Just a quick question, to see if anyone else has experienced this…
Has anyone gotten packages lately that were really beat to Hell? Eg, cardboard boxes where the cardboard is stiff and wrinkly, as if it got soaked in the rain and later dried, or dented and smashed as if someone decided to roll around in the pile of packages, etc.?
The stuff inside works as far as I’ve seen, ie, no damage serious enough to break anything, but it’s a bit scary to open a box that’s looks as if it’s been through the spin-cycle, expecting to find a pile of broken parts spilling out.
I got one of those mini-drones where the envelope was intact, but the box for the drone actually had a hole torn in the middle of it, and was quite… squished. The drone seemed to work fine, thankfully. And one of those “helping hands” thingies, ho boy, I should snap a pic of the box, ‘cause no one’d believe me if I’d just describe it. Mechanically it looks intact, but I have yet to try the LED inside. Oh, and the endoscope, which I think I mentioned before. The box was… well, let’s just say it had seen better days before.
I mean, hey, as long as it works and isn’t damaged I can overlook it, but as I mentioned, it’s actually scary when you first see the box wondering if the item inside will be DOA.
I’ve recently received a Lii-100 that came in a squashed box. The charger seems to work OK though.
EDIT: To be clear, I’m not interested on any kind of refund or replacement. As far as I can tell the contents of the box (the charger and cable) are working just fine. I would be concerned though, if I were to buy something fragile and it were to arrive in the same conditions. But this was a one time event from my growing list of orders from Gearbest, so I’m not concerned yet. I was just giving feedback as requested by Lightbringer.
Ah, right. Same as mine. The 100Bs always seemed to come in the white zip-lock envelope, but the regular 100 I got recently came in what was left of a box.
just ordered YWXLight E27 LED Flame Effect Light Bulb , alreaady have one and it is great, put it into a lantern light from walmart and it burns in my hallway pretty much all the time. great flames.

Ever wonder how the whole of China seems to post anywhere else for free (or very very little), yet if you need to send it back it’s astronomical? It’s because you are already paying for it through your taxes, then the UN basically take it and subsidise other countries postal systems. Some of the time our local postal services lose money carrying it!!!

I have noticed too how some shipping methods are not an option anymore. I’d say this is just good team work between Gearbest and customers.
While it is true that some shippers might damage packages more, I’ve had damages from even the paid shipping options. In fact, I just got a DHL package which did not show signs of external damage, but the product’s plastic corner was completely broken off. This was shipped with just the thin product display box stuffed inside another thin carboard box. If there had been even a small amount of foam or bubble wrap, the product likely would’ve survived intact. I’ve also had other items shipped in just a plain plastic envelope and get crushed when clearly a small box should’ve been used. So rather than just taking away the low cost shipping options, Gearbest should also look seriously into improving packaging methods.

Ever wonder how the whole of China seems to post anywhere else for free (or very very little), yet if you need to send it back it’s astronomical? It’s because you are already paying for it through your taxes, then the UN basically take it and subsidise other countries postal systems. Some of the time our local postal services lose money carrying it!!!

If you want to buy some batteries for $14 and you have to pay $6 shipping, you’re gonna look for a better deal somewhere else.
If you want to buy a light and you have a coupon code that reduces the price to $10 but there is $2 shipping cost, you’re gonna look for a better deal somewhere else.
With coupon codes most of the time you can not combine shipping with other items either, so it adds up when you buy several items each month.
So you’re gonna look somewhere else for better deals.
This is not necessarily the customers problem, but Gearbest’s problem if they don’t want to lose customers.
And it has always been free shipping on Gearbest, but this has changed recently for some countries.
Have to say, because of customers feedback about their packages’ damage, we closed some shipping options, the replacement measure will be announced to our members.
