For all those insinuating I want to get a free light out of this, I have no use for one as I already have a Copper Cree Tool and Titanium personally doesn’t appeal to me.
I offered to send the light back at their expense in exchange for a Nichia Tool, or full refund. I also offered to pay them an additional $13.99 + the $10.00 credit they offered, in exchange for a new confined Nichia. Being that the light were originally sold for 23.99, I felt that is a very fair offer.
A new customer service rep responded, completely ignoring any previous communications and simply offered gb wallet credit for the full amount, or a full refund. The way the representatives suddenly switched and no reference was made to the previous offer makes me suspect they may have escalated the case as they became aware of it being a widespread issue. Either that or perhaps our member CSgearbest brought it to their attention. Pure speculation on my part though. I’m not getting my hopes up until the refund is issued.
If anyone who received a Nichia and would like a Cree, I’d like to swap, provided the light is in new condition and you cover your share of the shipping.
Since it looks like the mislabeled emitters are going both ways, the easiest solution for some of the folks who received a light with the wrong emitter would be a simple exchange between the two parties. Yes there is going to be some additional cost in postage but it is likely to be lower (and faster) than going through the vendor.
Edit: I missed that Ozy already suggested it.

Just to clarify, you are berating people for not being happy when they received an item different than what they PAIDFOR.

Anyone even received their credit/wallet yet?
"We are processing your refund request, we will refund you 5 USD to your GB wallet. It will take up to 24 hours to process locally." ....and that 2 days ago. This is the type of thing that irritate me and want to deal with paypal, not about $5 but simple principle..if you say you do something then "do it"!!
This is hillarious.
Reading this I had to check out my recent Tool Ti as I haven’t even looked at it yet.
Not a joke, my sleeve over the box says, (on top) MADE IN CHINA, TOOL TI-CREE. On the side there is a barcode and Nichia 219BT (Neutral), Made in China. I already have the Cree Version and paid for the Nichia. I put in a battery to compare to my other Cree and the darn thing didn’t even work. Tried to unscrew the head ans it is glued. I did manage to get it off, cleaned out the glue and now it works. It certainly is a Cree as it has the exact same tint as my previous.
I will be contacting GearBest Customer Service with a picture of this box and explain how this light didn’t even work.
I think it’s time the GB representative, named My, on this site shows us some support. PM her guys.

Lol no, they just asked me to close the PayPal case so they can issue the refund “within 48 hours”.
The way these guys do business is simply unethical and disingenuous.
FWIW,
I sent a PM to Lumintop representative on this forum and received an extremely FAST reply. Sent links to the post with pics of the box. They confirmed that the side barcodes are not from Lumintop. GearBest has mislabeled these and sold the wrong products to us.
With this forum and PayPal, I see no reason why a refund will not be given.
@ Ozythemandias; don’t close the PP claim until refund is received. Have the refund issued and filed through PP.

Can confirm, the barcode label that says Nichia is the same format sticker as every other Gearbest product I received from them.
I don’t plan on closing the case without money, I was considering accepting the wallet credit but this request really makes me distrust them.
really sorry about that, and if anyone received the wrong product, please contact our customer service, and tell them what’s your choice of the compensation, GearBest will take the resonsibility for that,

12-18$ shipping cost unrealistic. BG and FT can now also be delivered for free.

Despite the fact that Greece is within the countries that some items (but not batteries ) have free shipping, I believe that’s unfair, cause annual turnover depends (among others) by population and average income.
What you should really care, is if packages get lost in the way to certain countries. I know that Hellenic Post is one of the most reliable state postal service providers, so it’s normal that free shipping option is offered (but NOT batteries ). Unfortunately for A_M_K, Bulgaria isn’t according to EU statistics. The strange fact though is that GB offers free shipping to Romania, that official EU statistics show it’s in the worst place.
Anyway, please give us GB’s Top 40 countries list and the annual turnover per country so far, or the percentage of each country to GB’s annual turnover (so that you don’t give us “private” data).
I’d like to know where Greece stands, cause I know we might be low on population and average income, but a lot of Greeks are buying online from China last couple of years.
Guys, I know it sucks, but you have to understand its not their decision not to send batteries and power banks to some countries, they would like nothing more than to sell more (of any goods).
As already mentioned and explained some association that gathers Airline companies made new regulations for all companies to follow: no shipping loose batteries (cells) and divices like power banks without special security measures that cost way to much to even be considered as an option.
None of the shops active on this forum delivers batteries to my location but I cant be mad at them, it’s not their fault, I am sure they would love to get even more of my money
Then… how come many other e-shops manage to send batteries with free shipping?
+1
GearBest my favorite online store where I buy. I’ve never had trouble with them, each packet has arrived. The prices are very good compared to the others.
The price of the battery is they want to spend.
Then… how come many other e-shops manage to send batteries with free shipping?
Which e-shops? What are the prices of cells/shipping costs (you say free)? There must be a reason why you haven’t ordered from those e-shops instead of expressing your unsatisfaction here?
You can send me a PM not to derail this thread even more.
GB, FT, DX, KD, BG none of them sends batteries to me location (I am very close to Greece), responsible sellers on Aliexpress tell me befor I buy that they can not send batteries and the others that either do not understand question or don’t care will send them but they will be returned and then I have to mess with dispute/refund.
I haven’t tried ordering via ebay because I do not have trusted seller that only sales genuine cells and I don’t want to be obligated to test every single cell I order.
How can you tell I haven’t ordered batteries from other e-shops that ship free to Greece?
Ofcourse I’ve ordered (e.g. KD).
I can’t know what’s every store’s shipping policy to your country, so I’m gonna PM you some of those I’m buying from with free shipping and had no problems so far.
BTW, this is “Commercial Sellers’ Spot” thread.

so why do they ship batteries for free (unregistered) to slovakia for example? if it was all about the new regulations of airline companies than it would affect them too, i guess. and yes, there are webshops that still ship batteries for free. anyways, i’m still sticking by gearbest and hope this issue will be solved soon.
so why do they ship batteries for free (unregistered) to slovakia for example? if it was all about the new regulations of airline companies than it would affect them too, i guess.
I can only assume, maybe they found some shipping company that has a direct flight to Slovakia and is willing to close one eye on a regulations as long as they have some profit from that.
One thing is certain, GearBest is, same as any company, profit oriented, if there is money to make in selling something they will sale it so I am 100% sure that if they could make money by selling batteries to Hungaria, Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria etc. and the only obsticle is their own decision “should we do it or not” we would not have this conversation and good & cheap cells would be on their way to us.
They might haven’t bothered enough themselves (as others did) to find the solution.
It’s a question of priorities:
- “Should we spend sometime to figure out how to do that, or should we focus on something else more urgent, since sales go fine without it?”
I can understand that as a sales strategy (if it is like that), but I don’t like it. Since I don’t like it and I see that a certain e-shop does nothing to improve that situation but is turning it’s back to me, most probably I’m gonna turn my back also and go shopping everything (not only batteries) from somebody else who values better my money. If many discontented customers do that and inform why they’re doing it, then maybe they see their mistake and do something about it.
