Hi, yesterday I received TK61 from hkequipment.net. Great store but the led was off-center: Photo Storage
This is sad. If I repair it my self, will I loose Fenix’s warranty?
How does it affect the beam pattern? Of course, I understand the frustration of that. Those sorts of things really bother me.
Just removed reflector and alligned led properly. The silly half circle mcpcb was the reason. Also Fenix’s & hkequipment.net poor QC.
Unfortunately about 50% of the TK61s I've seen have been badly decentered from the factory -- both from US and overseas sellers. The centering ring/reflector setup on the TK61 really isn't ideal at all--it is sloppy and hard to get right. It is disappointing for such an expensive light to come like this, that's for sure.
I talked to Vinh (he's probably seen more TK61s than anyone else) and he said that it is pretty normal for them to come like this and that they are hard to get perfectly centered, so much so that he glues the bezel shut after getting things "just right".
