Please post your tricked out Solarforce L2 and L2 clones to show how far one can be blinged out, And a 26650 light.

Ive gotten to the point that i feel i have enough lights and hosts and nothing stands out that i need in the way of flashlights and hosts. But ive always wanted to do a tricked out looking SF L2, But reasonably done cost wise.

I have a Ultrafire WF-504B Silver host in the mail now, But until i see its build quality i may want to order a host threw SF-sales.com and start with original parts as much as possible. Im not sure if i want to do a mix of black and silver and stainless steel, Or all one solid color. Thats why im asking to see yours.

To start off it will have a MF XM-L 3A P60 drop-in, But that may be modded or replaced if the host can handle the heat well. As far as power a dual 18650 setup sounds like what id want, But again i want to see yours and if it makes the light look to much like a pencil being so long and thin.

Id also entertain really hot looking other lights as long as they can handle an XM-L 3A P60 and one or two 18650 or even the 22650 as id like to try one of those out and my hobby charger has no issues hooking it up. I really am interested in a 22650 light anyhow, So even if it dont match the "Bling" classification id still like to see suggestions and options and do a separate purchase if need be.

Id still like to keep it reasonable which is $100 and less excluding cells and drop-in's. Thats alot for a SF, But ive been wanting to do this a while now and its more about the fun and uniqueness that drives my wants on this. I dont see the need to buy custom drop-ins as ive seen enough info here now i can mod my own if need be, But an XL-M at 3A is about as good as it gets on a single emitter anyhow. But a cool driver that does really cool stuff may be cool tho as i can do driver swaps.

Here's my Fivemega 26650 p60 host with copper slug/drop-in holder and Cryos bezel. And no its not a shelf queen. :) I'm really not much for bling, so other than a SS bezel ring occasionally my SF hosts look pretty standard.

Man, that flashlight looks good! Thanks for the pic mitro, really mouthwatering

DANG, Id use the other word but i dont think we can curse here. But that is a sweet job on that SF mitro. It combines the two things im looking at next, A bling SF and a 26650 light.

Be-Seen- 9A threw a P60 if it could be kept alive long enough probably could melt a copper slug. Im not afraid to use an XM-L as long as i keep it at 3A and under, And the Cryo head would definitely help and possibly take it over that depending on how it is made inside for thermal contact.

But i don't want to go full blown custom tho. I just bought all those spare parts you been helping me find Triker so i can experiment with setup's just in the P60 realm, Ill move to bigger heads and slugs once i get better with the electronics. Plus i have no machining tools other than a dremel, But im a meal solderer!

Actually, Id like this light to look and feel solidly built and have well proven electronic parts that have been for the most part unmolested so i have a reliable unit seeing it was put together by someone who still is for the most part a noob. I just have my 20 year old EE schooling that gives me some faith in working with most drivers and leds as long as its not experimental as buying replacement parts takes FOREVER to get or are very expensive to buy inside the USA.

Ill look into mitro beast further as i know ive heard of the body he used and i know the head also.

If anyone else post's up a blinged SF please make a note of something on or done to it that surpasses what you can buy from SF and any mods internally you cant see.

Thats a chunk of a light.

This one has my attention at the moment : http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1151

Im just not sure what to throw in it.

Have i been brain washed, Or hasn't the SST been surpassed by the XM-L?

Im guessing not at a certain level? At what point does the SST overtake the XM-L?

SST-50 doesn't worth it. Go big, SST-90

If i did do an SST it would be the 90, But im not so sure on the output amp specs and lumens.

Im still trying to decide if i want to go for looks and comfort over high power, I mean i have a few lights that are bright enough already. But not much bling in my collection, But i need bling on a budget as i dont want to spend over $100. And i know SolarForce is a great place to do that at.

I just wished other lights or places can do that with different models.

I think you want something like this for your SST-90

I really like this host, still hoping I find one as a host only for cheap. Would love to build something with it.

And everyone should have a well heatsinked SST90 flashlight driven at 10amps +, there is nothing like weld flash from a flashlight.

The Xm-L is a competitor for the SSt-50. The SST-90 is still capable of more output than a pair of Xm-L emitters but runs at 9-15A so requires a bit of heatsinking and a lot of battery to really drive one.

I am curious of the temperature of the SST-90 vs XM-L @ 3.5A both

The XM-l has practically replaced SST-50. I don't see any flashlight manufacturer using it anymore. All the throwers are now "equipped" with a XM-L, even though SST-50 can produce more lumens if more current is given.
