another medical pack pull...

Hi!

I saved “some” packs from the bin…
they have been exchanged preventive and are 2-3 years old.

Phillips brand - some with manufacturer label “BMZ - the battery experts”
3S1P - 10,8V - 1Ah

cracked open in 15 secs…

“some”

nice color!

cells:

some have a sticker “line 1.4” one have “line 2”

any experiences with the cells?

They were great cells in the day. If my memory serves me they were 1100 mAh and did up to 10C discarge so about 11 amps.. But I am sure someone more knowleadgeable than me will chime in. I just remember wanting to find them years ago but never did.

Apparently they were also in some high end 36V Bosch tools. 20 of them! I remember a thread somewhere on another forum I think.

I had the first 4 over night in the BT3100 v2 @ 700mA

all 4 came out with measured 4,15 - 4,18V
and 1032, 1032, 1044, 1056 mAh

so they are okay for hot single Cell DD lights ?
-> 10 A gives 5-6 min of runtime - thats right?

edit got 4,9A used single cell in a solarstorm T3
3,9A in a BLF DD17 Light

-> around 10% more than my other pulls are capable

Looks like Sony green. I only have 2200mAH Sony laptop cells, which are good.

what does the lower code tell us?

T T1125QI15X
google dont know

1600mAh

oh sorry those are VTC3, not VT

they have T1122QJ21B on it…

and since the Pack is rated1000mAh i think 1100 is not wrong at all

the next 4 came out with 1022 / 999 / 999 / 999 mAh

Wow! Very consistent results. They look to be in great shape. But you surely have to change the battery a little often. Though it is no worse than when I bought my first 18650 batteries. Those were 2200 mAh but NOT IMR batteries so the voltage sag was huge.

Hi again.

Found something about the manufacturing date.

The last 5 digits of the second line denotes production date.

First letter is year. Where Q=2008, R=2009, S=2010, and so on. So 2010 it is for the cell I am looking at.

Second letter is month where A= Jan, B= Feb and so on. So January it is.

The next two digits tell the date. So 28 it is then.

The last letter is something called electrode history. I have not searched for anything about that so I am unsure about what that means.

thanks!

so mine are from 2008 Sept 15th?

maybe the 11 tells capacity?

tested the first 24 now with my Charger…

no cell dead
no cell lower than 999 mAh

-> good pull so far

Sony cells
I have 12 of them 2200mAH rated. more than 3 years old laptop packs. still have 1500~1800mAH
Very good cells. brought two packs for 12$.

mine label say US18650GR

What equipment uses these packs?
you guys very lucky to have these packs. Im searching 3-4 years everywhere in here for batteries. There is no thing called battery bin here.
once I asked for dead packs from laptop repair company and they told me we have nothing.

I work in different hospitals…

in medical equipment often it is recommended to exchange the packs on a regular base before they go bad (1-4 years)
and before they go in the bin i collect them (IF the technicans there wont them - which is often the case :frowning: )
