Dented 26650

DELETED

looks to be small enough not to worry, but YMMV.

You keep it separate from others in a metal box, where a vent and burn won’t put home and family at risk, and you know <a href=“”lithium-ion” vent breathe”\ - Google Search>not to breathe, if it does vent, and why not — so you’re in the same situation all of us are. That’s a fairly sizeable cell; hard to tell from the picture how deeply it’s dented, and “who knows, nobody knows” or YMMV applies.

I have a king kong with a very shallow dent towards the base. It’s still the same voltage as the other cells, and they have a semi-permanent home now so no more damage should occur. I would imagine the 26650’s, being larger, and thus having a relatively thinner casing would dent more easily. But by the same token, for having twice the internal volume but only 35ish% more capacity than a 18650, the bag should at least be a bit more durable.
