Nuclear Battery, Anyone?

Just in case the requirements go up for new LED/LDs:

And in a few years we will be like these guys but without the need of batteries…

Sure, if it truly is LENR. It would still need to be paired with something to transfer the heat into electricity ether via steam turbine, or some other differential engine.

If it were nuclear, would not the researchers be dead by now?
Also if it were legitimate every news organization would be showcasing it, it would be the top news story everywhere

I read the history of the original cold fusion discovery, lets just say winning the lottery is more likely then cold fusion working

This of course will prove not to be true.

But to claim 1.5 Mega Watt Hours over a period of 32 days is 7 times the energy produced by Nuclear Fusion at the core of the Sun in a cubic meter. Think about that, at the core, where the Nuclear Fusion is at its most intense, the Sun only produces 276.5 watts per cubic meter. A cubic meter is a pretty big box. Measure that for 24 hours and 32 days and you only get 276.5 * 24 * 32 = 212352 Watt Hours = 0.212 Mega Watt Hours.

Energy by Nuclear Fusion is not easy to come by, harder still coming from a sustained source.
This claim is beyond ridiculous.

BTW, this factoid from Wikipedia is my favorite one this year, just came across it about 6 months ago.

Bort; I think that you are thinking Fission, not Fusion. Totally different physics phenomena but considering the thermal output of a Fusion bomb I am not sure that being too close to either is recommended. The radioactive products from a Fusion bomb are due to the use of an atomic bomb as the trigger as I recall reading.

You could be right, but i remember reading that footage with the scientists (during the cold fusion saga) were watched by experts who asked why are they not dead yet since the products would have included radiation, i don’t know the formula for this reaction so it may be a radiation free one (an expert can chime in)

Fusion releases yummy, yummy neutrons… which are not a good things to have whizzing around your body.
