I’m in the proccess of building a Quad XM-L2 2D purple maglite. My plans so far is using an adjustable aluminium base, 2S2P XM-L2 (2CW & 2NW) and the Zener modded BLF17DD. Powered by 2x 26650.
What I want to know is if there will be any sort of problem running the 2S2P with this driver, regarding the lower Vf of the XM-L2 wired in 2P. Thanks!
Nope, no issues. XMLs have lower Vf than XML2s so it'll run at a higher total output current, that's all. This combo will do big current so don't even think about proceeding unless the LEDs are on copper MCPCBs.
I forgot the 2, I’ll be using 2S2P XM-L2, they’re on 16mm noctigon, with 20mm optic on top…
The Ledil Rocket is a nice way to go with a Maglite quad and gives a clean look.
