I’m impressed with how long the Rofis MR50 can maintain it’s highest brightness setting. After the initial stepdown, it maintained a constant brightness for 3 hours, and it didn’t get too hot either. The boost driver appears very efficient.
Good usb/rechargeable console light.
No need for clip
I bit the gold.
Thx
Edit: Purchased before I noticed the ‘battery’ is usb…… not the actual light.
Never seen that before. Still a decent deal.
And apparently ugly green tint, based on the reviews there.
Just got mine and it does have a pretty greenish tint. But for $13 shipped and with a 1450 battery included I can live with the tint. Especially since it’s going into my car’s glove box so I’ll probably never see it

It’s a really nice light! One oddity is that the included 21700 cell is significantly larger than any other 21700 battery I have; it won’t even fit into any of my chargers or 21700 lights.

Plus if you get the gold one, the tint isn’t the ugliest thing about its color

I concur. Great light.
I’m amazed these sometimes go for around $20 on Amazon. They look and feel like $70 lights.

Yeah the included 21700 is quite large but fits in my Vapcell S4 charger. Surprisingly the much smaller LG M50 21700 battery works just fine with the MR50.
I received the Wuben C5 the other day. Some thoughts:
- It’s exactly as slippery as it looks, which is “very.”
- The UI is ok. I’d rather have double-click from off be turbo instead of strobe. Not memorizing moonlight when accessed via a hold from off is nice though.
- Good mode spacing.
- The tint is horrendous, unless you like a green hotspot with purple spill.
The LED on mine was quite a bit off-center. It didn’t bother me too much because the tint was so bad I knew I’d never use the light anyway. I began trying to remove the bezel for an emitter swap. A heat gun plus grippy rubber gloves wasn’t working. I got fed up and used two pliers. The gouges give the light some much-needed grip. They used lots of threadlocker
My iron had trouble melting their solder. I think the centering issue was due to the weird bowl-shaped gasket they used. I guess as a plus it prevents electrical shorts on the underside of the reflector – something I’ve been having trouble with lately. A 16mm MCPCB requires no modification.
With a 219b 3500k the light is much better. I can see LED petals and slight off-centering if I look for it. I think I’ll add some diffusion film and it will be perfect.
I feel it was a good deal at $10 (plus $5 and lots of aggravation for a new emitter). I see it’s at $26 now. I think there are much better options at that price point, especially if you are even somewhat of a tint snob like me.
Here’s a good deal on a AAA Wuben light. 50% off with coupon puts it around $10.50 and comes with a battery.
I got a coupla those, but be forewarned.
First, it’s got a CW G3, so… enough said.
Second, if I’m remembering right, this is the one that’s all too quick to jump to epilepsy mode if you try changing modes the slightest bit too quickly.
I literally couldn’t give ‘em away.
I normally like Wubens for awesome hardware, but retarded UIs. The exception being the TO46R which I loooooooooove.
The red/black packaging has changeed . No idea what else has changed my E01 is from 2019. It has 3 mode (Low: 1lm / Medium: 20lm / High: 100lm) with hidden SOS mode. In this case it’s a slow flash barely distinguishable from change modes. It starts in lowest mode and resets to lowest mode after about 10 seconds. XP-G3 is notoriously bad looking but what can you do? Emitter swap is as straight forward as with other AAA lights.
I prefer the UI of E01 (L/ M /H ) over the asinine UI of Lumintop AAA (M / L / H )
“ Quality Quester” on amazon gives a pretty good rundown of this light. On a particular note is the lack of LVP these have. It’s a vampire light. It will keep depleting the battery past 0.9v. Not good for NIHM though.

I don’t like the way it compresses the springs so much —- I might be converting this cell to unprotected

So a plasma lighter gets its 'fuel' from the battery?

Yes. All of these various plasma lighters on Amazon are battery powered.
There is 18650 tubes (plus clip) sold at their store for $9.99.

Seems like a decent UI, at least it has shortcuts to firefly and turbo.
It’s funny over the years I’ve bought seral of the double head type lights — after the initial novelty wears off , they usually never get used

Thank you. Grabbed one just for it’s quirky looks. Haven’t bought a new light in a while. For $20, what the hell.

It only comes in cool white, which I'm not too fond of, but at least it has a tail switch, something I like.

Apparently there was a limit on the discount. I heard from a few guys that it ran out shortly after I posted it
80% off headlamp coupon was available this morning.
