trying to sell a few of my custom made phosfor-bronze springs

I am posting this in the commercial sellers spot, LOL, I feel important! Wink Despite this, there is no profit, I sell them because I like to see people to try out my custom springs, and it limits the damage a bit Smile

For sale: custom made phosfor-bronze compression springs (spring factory: Tevema, Amsterdam).

wire thickness: 1mm

ground diameter: 10mm

top diameter: 7mm

height: 15mm initially, 13mm from first compression on.

Test thread here.

In short: these springs have about 3 times less resistance as steel springs of the same dimension, so less power is lost in your flashlight. The mechanical properties are good, the stiffness is slightly less than a steel spring but I would still call it a stiff spring. I did not notice any loss of tension after half an hour 6A current. The resitance is low, but certainly not as low as a 'copper braided' spring, for really high current single li-ion flashlight mods where every mV counts, these springs are not the ultimate solution (but you could still copperbraid them Smile ).

price and shipping

I will sell them per 5 pieces, for $0.70 each (so $3,50 for 5), in a small bubble-mailer. Up to 15 springs the shipping costs are $1.70 worldwide, more than 15 (=package of more than 20 grams) will be $2.70. I will provide no tracking or whatever other guarantee (it is not exactly expensive what I sell here), I promise that I will send them and just hope that they arrive, and without too much delay. If your situation is really pitiful Cry, I will resend your springs, but only if I have some leftover.

Are these springs expensive?

-no, they costed him $1 a piece, so he even lost money on them

-yes, if he had 2500 made instead of 200, the production costs would probably have been 25 cents/spring instead of a dollar

-no, this is exactly the spring that I always wanted for my ultimate mod, they are priceless Wink

Please note: 10 mm ground diameter is quite large, these springs will not fit everywhere, please measure before you buy these, e.g. I have a 17mm tail switch board with a 9mm diameter central pad, this spring will fit without shorting to the outer ring, but not by much.

How do I order?

Please reply in this thread how many you want, followed by a PM with address and such, I will give you my Paypal-address then. When I recieved the money I will send the springs, hopefully within a few days. In case the interest is very high: I will keep 20 springs for myself, so 179 springs are for sale.

I hope this way it will work out well, it is my first time selling things, Beer , djozz

I wasn't available today, we celebrated our son's fourth birthday, but wow! 160 springs are accounted for, that is only 19 to go.

Thanks guys! This means that:

1) there's many of these springs out there, I would love to get some feedback on their usefulness

2) I will have more than 60% back of what I payed for the springs, I think this limited loss was money spend well for a nice custom spring experiment Smile

3) if you guys are happy with these, it may be a good idea have another batch made sometime, perhaps with other dimensions or even another alloy?

I replied all PM's , but did not recieve one from zeremefico yet, is that correct?

I just put the springs of wight, MRsDNF, Hopback, antiparanoia, devman, BillyX, nitro, L4M4, leafty, and DBCstm on the mail. Let's hope it all arrives in good order.

Still waiting for payment/address from Fritz t.Cat and bugsy36, still waiting for PM from zeremefico.

If the remaining info/payment comes through as expected, I have 4 springs still for sale: let's make it 5 Smile

All sold! Thanks! I hope the springs will meet the expectations. I myself have used one just now in my Uniquefire UF-1405 shorty mod (still in progress).  I copperbraided it because of the high current direct drive.
