(Sold) J-19 3X MT-G2

Ok up for sale is a J-19 MT-G2 triple.

This is wired with a BLF FET driver and 18 gauge wire. Both springs have been re-enforced so they don’t melt with the current being drawn by the three MT-G2 emitters wired parallel. It runs off of either 2x26650 or 2x32650. The J-19 is huge and that is what you need for three MT-G2’s. For a user interface it is a dimming mode. Double click the tailcap and it starts on low and ramps up to high. Stop anyplace you want and it will start back up at that setting. It has a perfect tint and a large well defined hotspot.

It settles in at 7,000 lumens on high. (startup is higher)

As usual first PM gets the light.

Photos or it didnt happen

LOL I know I should get some taken and do some more beamshots of other lights too. Problem is my dang internet has been a joke for the last three months. I keep getting disconnected all the time. I get halfway through a download and have to start over.

Check your cables. If any of them are bent at all then they need to be replaced. I had the same issue a few months ago, replaced my cables and its perfect now. Might work might be a bigger problem

Omg the heat coming from this thing must be like the surface of the sun…under a minute on high?

Not as bad as you would think really, you can run it on high for a long time before it burns your hands. I did the same light but used three batteries and that was just too much current. I literally melted the wires right off of the driver.

You can hold it because it’s a long handle though right?
Is that kind of heat acceptable for all the parts inside the lights head?

nice build!

Absolutely the driver is a simple Direct Drive FET model and it’s been wired with very heavy wires. Also this host is HUGE it actually weighs more than a BTU shocker. I first tried doing this same thing with three batteries and that was too much for it. But when running only two batteries it’s not having any trouble at all. With three batteries it melted the wires off of the driver, melted the wires themselves, melted the springs and killed the tailcap switch. (all on different tries) It still wouldn’t kill this driver. I started all over and used only two batteries and it’s handling it just fine.

Brad, take a bunch of pic’s, put them on a CD or SD card and mail it to me. I’ll host them on my site and send you all the links to post wherever you need. Just an option.

Thanks CK I might have to take you up on that.

This light is beast, that’s for sure. I know because I have one. Mine was also built by 18sixfifty.
This light is not really budget friendly, but youll be one of the few with the only triple mtg2. The only other triple mtg2 sells for close to $400. And I’m not even sure if that available yet.

This light has the best tint I have ever seen! I have several mtg2 lights but none with the tint like this j19. Not sure what bin 18sixfifty uses, but it’s super nice. It’s like a true warm white. No yellow whatsoever.

The heat sink on this light is game too. My three other lights that does 7000lumens cannot be ran on turbo like the j19. After 5 mins, the handle is jus warm, and I’m still able to grasp the bezel. So this makes a great search and rescue light. And the ability to choose how many lumens you want is jus icing on the cake. Instead of the traditional set modes, you get this cool ramping feature!

The beam is second to none too. what you see is a very floody beam, big spill, and a huge hotspot. Surprisingly throws pretty damn well for a mtg2 emitter, thanks to the deep reflectors. Throws better than my 9x xml’s that does 7000 lumens.

can you post some pictures for Brad?

I want this light badly but it’s a bit above my budget for now. So I’ll probably spend the next few days talking myself into and out of the purchase. Hopefully someone will save me some money and buy this…….or not. Anyway, while I’m thinking about it, can you give me an approximate output on the low end and runtime on the high end?

One more question:
Does this include 26650 sleeves?

The low end is 15 to 20 lumens it goes from practically off to turbo. On turbo I have only ran it 5 minutes and that was tailstanding so you can run it till the batteries run down. How long that takes is up to the batteries you have. I have taken it for a few walks and gone through two discharges of batteries. It didn’t seem to be a terrible battery hog.

Yes it comes with 26650 sleeves.

18sixfifty, thanks for the quick answers to my questions. I’ll take the light. PM sent.

Thanks and I have marked the light as SOLD. Enjoy your new light!

I’m surprised it lasted this long

Forgot to mention, this light gets to be ran in shorty mode….that’s only 12.5 inches!
