GROUP BUY for HEADLIGHT 4 in 1 “led stripe” $10,99 (no reflector! microUSB input, USB powerbank output)

hello , i am starting a GB for this headlight http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_97849.html

i noticed it while i was searching for an original headlamp, and this seems to be a nice one, ( similar at singfire sf-349 with microusb and usb power bank, in the other GB), and no other online shop seems to actually sell it.

I’m waiting for the package to examine how does it perform, but i’ll hope we receive at least 20 INTERESTED PERSON to get the discount coupon code….this flashlight is big as a “standard 1x18650 powerbank” and using a STRIPE led should output a nice floody beam useful for work done by close ( i own a cheap headlight with aspherical lense but don’t like to use it at short range…too bright hotpsot).
Lots of powerbank does have an integrated LED, but no one does have the light “on the side”….and no other one is sold with compatible headband to use it as headlamp.
COMES WITH INCLUDED BATTERY

COUPON: xxxxxxx (will be added when reach 20 member) PRICE: 10,99 $
i hope my contribute is helpful
ps:….a rieview of this light will be done when i receive it.

Current price shows as $12.36
Looks like six square emitters in a row
I asked on the GB website exactly what battery they’re including.

EDIT: the “Specification” section says: Battery : 1 x 18650 Battery (included)

battery is included

well the title reads “…with Rechargeable Battery”, so there’s a contradiction.

When you do the review, I’d love a comparison of the 6-LED strip to this light http://www.fasttech.com/product/1941101

This

I can't imagine anything worse than High, Low, Strobe for a headlamp. If you could get some useful modes it might be worthwhile but at this price I can't see that happening.

The strip LEDs would give a nice floody beam profile though.

I bought several Gearbest USB battery packs a while back and they all tested at about 1/4 of claimed capacity. You can be sure that if the battery is included on this one it will be only worth tossing.

In addition, the 20,000mAh pack burned out the first time I tried to charge it and won't work at all.

A lot of very low quality stuff there.

@zeremefico : …. do you prefer that headlight? i think the flashlight of the thread is better.

@gadabout : you said “I bought several Gearbest USB battery packs a while back and they all tested at about 1/4 of claimed capacity.”
this is not only a gearbest problem, ALL CHINESE SELLERS do sell problematic and fake advertised power banks….did not you know???
This is because is generally better to buy an empty power bank and buy your preferite batteries. did you really thought 20,000mAh are true? xiaomy best powerbank is only 16000mah for real. It’s your fault  to trust that a “cheap” powerbank can provide TRUE 10000, 13000, 20000 mah. if you want good quality pay higher price for it,_ speaking about powerbank market it is SO_

@argolite : i can’t do a comparison with the fasttech item…. I DON’T OWN IT. It seems similar to the one sold to in the GB but i think the one from gearbest is better for this motivations:

  1. cheaper
  2. silver aluminum looks more beautiful than black one
  3. you can’t use as GIFT the fasttech one headlamp. Normal people do not have li-ion chargers, the gearbest one uses microusb.
  4. WHY to have 2 types of led on the fasttech one? to have the LED on the classic place……you LOSE the microusb input feature and the powerbank usb output. IMHO this is a “general purpose” item…… to carry always in the bag ( for womens) or to keep in the car just to save your smartphone battery and, when needed to have a floody light.

Yes of course I know - it was a moment of muddle-headed weakness on my part. I guess I just got lazy and took a chance. Nevertheless, I was still pretty pissed off with the large one burning out before I could even get a chance to use it.

It's true that most Chinese vendors overstate the battery claims. However you will find sometimes at Fasttec that they have actually tested them and wil print the tested actual capacity along with the manufacturers claims. I've never seen any such diligence at Gearbest.

I have a couple of 4 x 18650 USB power banks filled with Panny and Sanyos and am happy with them.

No need to get defensive……Members are just pointing out that in their
OPINIONS it is likely to be a dsappointing value :frowning:

Even worse — a driver with no low-voltage warning.
Hey, what could possibly go wrong?

This applies to any and all headights.

I don’t understand if you are speaking about powerbanks or the headlight of the thread. I think powerbanks. It’s an intricated argument….

UPDATED PRICE: from 11.19 to 10,99. and INCLUDED BATTERY confirmed.

I don’t see this happening….

Did they give you a specification/brand name/dimensions for the battery they include?
If there’s no protection in the driver/charger board, do they offer a protected battery that fits?

Just questions I’d ask myself before buying one (in fact questions I ask at the web page, but that aren’t answered)

i don’t know the brand of the battery but i suppose a generic one… not panasonic,lg etc. but for the price….!
i don’t understand how could you KNOW that the driver is without low voltage warning. did you test it?
You are an old member….should know that it’s not so important if the driver does have or doesn’t have a low voltage protection…. for 2 reasons:

1) how many CHEAP and low bugget flashlight do have low voltage protection? i think very few.
2) Using a PROTECTED battery make it almost useless, am i wrong? the internal battery protection does not allow to go under 3/2,75/2,5 v ……= no battery killed.

Practically fossilized.

I like to know what something is before I strap it onto my head.
I’ve asked at the page — no answers.
I consider over-discharging a lithium-ion cell a mistake to be avoided.

the battery may be soldered in.
looks like a mod of the uniden powerbank i linked here.
generic cylinder type powerbank with non user replaceable cell.

Maybe your special sweetheart will appreciate this lovely necklace adorned with Chinese Li-Ion’s?

Interested, but I have the same questions being asked.
Hank ASKED what battery was in there. They did not answer. That’s not a good sign.

IF the light/power bank has built-in decent protection (like a power bank should), AND the battery CAN be replaced if junk, then maybe it’s OK.
Answers to those concerns can go a long way to helping the sale.
Avoiding the answers, or simply pointing out what is already posted on the site will not help.

excuse me but it is NORMAL that the battery can be replaced…… have you ever seen a flashlight with non replaceable 18650?
(look at the fasttech similar one design ….it’s is battery replaceable like all flashlights)

Ok they did not reply what kind of battery is included…. but if you reasons… at this price they can’t include a panasonic, sanyo,lg battery…… so just expect a nonbranded or ultrafire, trustfire one…… but this “is not a problem”.

I think that in this thread there are so no sense questions a bout an item that actually is an ORIGINAL multipurpose flashlight, with nice silver aluminum body, an hgeadstrap to use it as headlight. and the usefull features of usb powerbank and microusb input port. I can’t understand (really) what are you epecting from a so nice priced flashlight….they also include a cheap 18650 ( valuable about 2/3$ ?) so the net price of the flashlight is only 8/9 $

Lol
