I am upgrading my batteries and charger, and I’m planning to get either sanyo or Panasonic protected 18650’s from Fasttech. I was about to pull the trigger on a Nitecore D4, but it looks like those cells (69.5mm) might not fit.
1. Does anybody have experience with long cells in the D4?
2. Is there a comparable charger around $30 that I should look at? (I like the ability to charge Lifepo4 and see the voltage)
3. Is there a smaller protected cell of the same quality as the. Sanyo/Panasonics?
Without actually measuring....
My D4 accepts the protected EVVA 3400 18650 (essentially Panas. 18650) and the protected Keepower 5200 26650. Those are both some fairly long cells so I cannot see why you couldn't.

I use my Nitecore D4 to charge both Protected Panasonic 18650B 3400mAh batteries from Fasttech & Banggood with no problems.
I also use them to charge Protected EVVA Panasonic 18650BD 3200mAh, & other batteries
Very Good charger, so good that I bought an additional one.

Hmm… Maybe it would have worked for me then, but I ordered the vp2 yesterday. I’m sure I’ll be happy with it
