GB Skilhunt H02 and H02R *** CW and NW available - May be able to do again if enough interest

Update 5/22/15

CODES ARE EXPIRING AT THE END OF MAY ON SUNDAY

If anybody else wants the codes please pm

Update 2/11/15

Vendor states that GB and codes are still in fact still effect because it has done better than originally expected.

I thought it would be over but as long as they are selling they are keeping the codes active. Wink

Update 2/08/15

Discount codes are still active

Update 1/11/15

After a lot of back and forth (and I do mean a lot!) Skilhunt has finally agreed to start offering the H02 and H02R with a neutral white emitter without additional cost.

Update 12/29

We most definitely have enough people. Waiting on the vendor to supply a code and see how they progressed in negotiations for those that desire NW.

Update 12/29

Just spoke to the vendor.

  • Tracking is included

NW emitter is being difficult

  • Manufacturer has none in inventory and wants to increase cost
  • Availability will be longer because there are not any in production (CW in production and ready to go)
  • Vendor is trying to negotiate production of this tint but there has to be enough interest

Update 12/28

*** Inquiries have been made regarding tracking and NW emitter option. Of course I cannot promise anything and it looks like it is a pretty easy swap but to help further that cause it would help if we could find out how many would go for it - please post if you are interested in NW option. As of now there are commitments for 23 (18-H02 and 5-H02R). I am not certain the Skilhunt would go for it for only a few. On the other hand...if there was an interest of 100 it may sway them. Again, I gave not heard back yet so I cannot say about tracking or NW emitters.

____________________________________________________

I have never been a headlamp person but this year I have been purchasing all sorts of flashlights and headlamps for Christmas gifts for my coworkers. The abilities and qualities of a good flashlight like the X6-SE and even the S2 are not surprising (to me) - even at their price points.

What was and still is surprising to me is the usefulness of a QUALITY headlamp. Since I gifted all of the "good stuff" I find myself wanting to get a a few quality headlamps. I have since come across these new headlamps and am trying to organize a group buy of a minimum of 20 (can be a combination of both headlamps and not just one or the other).

The brand is recognizable quality and the specs are great.

Skilhunt H02 Headlamp

Skilhunt H02R Headlamp

Due to that ugly MAP clause a pm is required for vendor and amount. Let's see if 20 people are interested Smile

Bugsy, I’m inclined to say I’d be in for one H02. Thanks for doing the leg work on this.

Don't be confused, my Username has been changed from "Cone" to "T.H.Cone".  I'm still the same clown.

They surprise me as well. Despite having many other flashlights, my headlamps will likely find the most use.

If the price is attractive, I may be interested to get another one (by the way I have already got 3!).

You are not kidding! I have another on the way also and intend to pick up both of these Skilhunts.

In the past I always veered away from headlamps because they were never bright enough. Today, since I found this wonderful site, all the stuff of the past is history.

Also, with the Skilhunt (and unlike my favorite HC50) they have what I believe will be a very useful magnetic base.

  • Lightweight
  • Output
  • Dual use

Yeap, I am not kidding : ) I have three H02 with various emitters (High CRI, NW, etc).
I like to scatter them all over the house, so they are readily there when I need one.

If I want to add to your list of why H02 is a great headlamp

  • TIR lens – good for closeup works, no hot spot.
  • Switch is at the top of the head, when used horizontally as a headlamp. much easier to switch on/off.
  • Last but not least, this light can easily be modified due to ample room at the head, e-switch is not integral part of the driver, many parts can easily be disassembled, etc.

I have already changed the emitters, and drivers to Nanjg with custom firmware
which make them behave more like Armytek headlamps
(another headlamps that I have, which UI and build I like a lot, but not their prices)

The ease of modding is something I knew nothing of. I do like the TIR lens and the switch location as well as the pocket clip. If this thing is that easy to mod it is more than worth what they want. The Armyteks are nice but I just can't see the money..otherwise I would also be sporting a HC90 on top of the HC50.

These Skilhunts look like they are able to give Armytek a very serious run for the money. GB or not...I am definitely getting at least one of not two....but the more the merrier Smile

About switch location is at the top, although it is like a trivial feature to look for of a headlamp, but one has to actually use a headlamp with side switch (eg: Ultrafire UF-H6) to fully realize how inconvenient, unnatural your hands are when operating it (comparing to top switch).

My initial thought when H02 was out in the market is Skilhunt engineers must have taken the key features of Armytek headlamps, when designing theirs.

Based on what Dnkyblf has said about emitter swaps and the lack of description other than XM-L2.....I can only assume that it is a CW. I am not even asking the vendor because too many times I have seen "that" mistake of identifying the emitter. Smile

I am ok with CW but as stated...swapping is easy.

Depends on are you going to use it for closeup work or not.
I myself prefer diffuser/TIR.
