another storm and 3 day outage.
10 more of these lights in the hands of new neighbors.
10 lights,20 laptop pulls,and 10 “ghetto chargers”
everyone loves these things!
esp when one can charge from any modern usb cell charger.

with the efficiency of newer leds there is now a shortcut that eliminates the most expensive part.
the new harbor freight freebie has a 2835 led.
beam is godawful though.
but you can carefully reflow a 3535 led onto the pads.have to hold it with your tweezers while it cools to keep it centered.
the resistor on the board lets it pull about 200ma on a fresh 18650.and barely gets warm . this with a nichia 219c 4000k.
so you can push it back together and run an 18500 or seat the board near the end,add a diffuser, and use an 18650 with spacer(rolled up cereal box)
btw the nichia gives a decent beam with no purple/puke of the stock led.

the above trick works with the dollar tree camping light.
i only populate the center position on the area light section.
change resistor to 3.3 ohm for nicd/nimh or 5.1 for cz,alk,li primary.
