Most annoying feature on flashlight - BudgetLightForum.com

That's a pretty good selection of poll options since they're all problems which can be rectified at very low or no cost but none of the xxxFire manufacturers ever bother.

As much as the flashy strobe modes drive me nuts, I have had emitters with colors I could not stand to look at and had to either change them or get rid of the light.

I would say: all 3 of them J)

From most annoying to less annoying: 3-2-1

Out of the torches I own, I'd say the disco modes are most annoying.

Agree, all three can be annoying.

I'm also not a fan of rear-clickies. I just don't like to hold a flashlight in that position, would rather hold it low at my waist, seems much more natural.

I would say the most annoying thing about a flashlight is the lack of a proper strobe. Not an option though.

my ff-2100 5 mode has all above, low pwm and not enough low "low mode", blue tint (making me love my nw xm-l and xp-g even more) and strobe with sos (not so bad on a bike at day)

Is anyone else bothered by mode memory that doesn't kick in immediately? The only light I have that doesn't do this is the Yezl T9, every other multi-mode light I have takes a few seconds of the light being on for the memory to stick. Probably not too big a problem for most of ya'll but I like to use my lights in short bursts and it's really annoying to have the light come on in the next mode (especially strobe!) if I'm not paying attention. PWM really gets to me too...

Can i vote all of them? Don't know what is the worst! But can't live with a flashlight with these 3 features! Though, if it is quite good, i might forget about the disco modes, like in skyray 3xt6.

Disco modes didn't bother me much until I got a light with memory. Now I have to go through disco modes every time I want to set the light back to high (HI-MID-LO-strobe-SOS). So I'm as well annoyed with memory that is becoming a standard feature and is pretty much useless if more than one person uses the light.

I think PWM is the most annoying. You can always skip a strobe mode but if your low mode has pwm there's no way out..

I've never noticed PWM with the torches I own. That said, I'm very sensitive to plasma TV flicker and the DLP rainbow affect. Does that mean none of mine use PWM??

All three, but tint the most.

Tint, because it'll drive me nuts before anything else (I'm not terribly sensitive to low PWMs). Strobes can be useful in certain situations, like outdoors usage.

i'm also really sensitive to low PWM. but bad tint bothers me the most because you can't avoid it. you can avoid PWM or disco modes by using the light on high, but you can't ever get away from bad tint.

This is a tough one for me: I hate all of these pretty hard.

Easiest to bare would be the tint. Since I´m quite new to led flashlights, I haven´t been suffering the so called Nichia-blue...

I´m no HiFist. Good neutralish R5 goes well.

Strobe and PWM, hmm....

Strobe is sometimes hidden but PWM is like at least 50-66% of the time there...

I really hate bad PWM, don´t know why? Do I have a "fast eye" or what?!

Everything that moves looks terrible in PWM-light.

I rather take a 50% lower output than bad PWM. For example, solarforce R5 dropin vs. just 1A AK-47 and the ´47 wins.

Guess I´m picky with it :|

one bonus about being (partially) color blind: tint doesn't really matter to me at all :P only piss-off is the SOS. I dont mind having strobe, especially if it is accessible via a 'back-route'.

Gotta say bad PWM. I can live with not-so-good-tint (greenish, yellowish...) and you don't have to use disco-modes if you don't want to, I just hope those would be "hidden".
