This new ganzo remember me another knife...

Yes, a pair of new ganzo models, g719 and g720, the g720 is a very clear copy of the lionsteel. Interesting new model…

Nice,
I have a Multitool from GANZO, nice finishing & a good price!

For those that have the Ganzos. How solid is the blade locked up? I mean, does the blade wiggle any or like crazy when deployed? That is my biggest complaint on the budget knives. I always feel unsafe with them.

I had a budget folder lock break on me with very little pressure. (I am not a manly man) I was lucky it was dull as a screwdriver and I was wearing heavy leather gloves. I use the budget blades in the yard and garage.

After that incident, I have been hesitant about getting another one. I did buy a $20 Gerber on sale and for the money it works. When the blade locks, it feels as solid as a full tang blade. But to me it is ugly as a monkey butt and all black, tip down carry with a horrible clip that is too shallow and it is hard to use with gloves. Plus, I want orange so I can find it in the grass when I drop it. I have been thinking about coating the handle in some Glow power epoxy mix.

But these look nice to me. I like the deep clip, tip up carry on these. Of course I have to have a lanyard hole and these have that. I don’t use a knife that doesn’t have a lanyard. With thick leather gloves its a must. The stud on these looks nice and big.

I have the g710. Did lock it and tapped it hard on the top several times, it did not break or loosen.

I’ve got other Ganzo axis style locking knives, had no problems with any play etc. Good find on this model.

It depend of the models and random variations. The G711 seem to have a problem of security but I can’t say if it has been fixed on later batch.
You MUST try the Enlan EL-01, flippers are the best for safety.

Ganzo’s have been poor in the quality control for the last year or so. I bought a G712 and it was excellent smooth and locked up well. Others had pivot screws that had non release thread locker so the pivot was not able to be adjusted, mine was fine. Some more people complained about the Axis lock bar was not going far enough up the blade tang to lock securely, mine was O.K. I even bought a batch of G620’s, six of them in the set, decent price of $9 for a good looking knife, fake Damascus on three and black coated on three, assisted opening as well, lots to go wrong but they were all good.
I’ll certainly give the G720 a try. Very good looking knife, thanks xatu.

EDIT

I see Exduct have them in stock for $23, I’ve created a product request ticket at FastTech, if they stock them then you can be sure they’ll sell them cheaper than Exduct does, he’s got a bit high on his prices lately.

Well, asking questions:

Rickflair: i have 3 ganzos and… Steve and omega17 has response very well, the g711 seems to be a bad lock up (i made a thread about that i think), and from my 3 ganzos each one are different, the g710 poor engaged but veeeeery smooth, the g704 better engage (lockup) and medium smooth and the g712 two screws impossible to quit and adjust the pivot and nothing smooth or it has blade play.

The el01 is very good, and enlan and srm have better fit and finish than ganzo, somebody said that the steel is worst than the enlan/srm.
And if you want the best security buy a fixed knife (full tang better).

Manly man? I can not the meaning of that.
I know a lot of you will go for the g720
There are a new g719 model, automatic, it seems like the g707 but of the 2015

Need a sharp pointy knife for led dedoming, any suggestions?

x-acto, or just disassemble a razor if you are going to slice the dome (razors have REALLY thin blades) (high likelihood you will cut yourself though)

For me dedoming is more press than slice:

A razor blade will be great for MT-G2, at least for me.

That G720 is a very, very nice piece of kit.

Marc.

A bit of poetic irony is always good for the sole!
