Would there be anyone interested in putting together a group of people that would be willing to loan out one light per person and we mail them around to each other to try out for a predetermined amount of time say a week.

are we to become the netflix of the flashlight world ?? lol

to me this could be a try before you buy

honestly with the expensive lights it would rock , just dont get too many of those myself but $5 -$10 bucks could be worth it.

I've seen this done at another forum where everyone donates some lights to the pool/box (starting w/ the organizer), and each person just pays for shipping to the next guy (by order/priority of who contributed or something), and the only requirement was that you write up a brief review when you get the lot and get to try them all out for a week or so. Adding a light at each stop would be nice. USPS has those "if it fits it ships" boxes for $10, which is probably the way to go.

It's a pretty good idea as long as someone is willing to expend some effort to coordinate a bit. Even if they're not fancy lights, it's interesting to see what's out there for not much money.

I seem to do that anyway (try a new light per week). But it works out expensive

If I have to send a light back to US, The postal charge will probably cost me more than

the light itself. I´ll do better by buying the light in the first place.

Even within the same country I dont think it will work. In this country a package cost 10$

to send, even a short distance.

And worse: If I get a light from outside EU, whether its a loan or not, I´ll have to pay

customdues if the value is more than around 15$

Very nice idea though!

It looks like shipping would be the big problem, so it would end up being a CONUS thing only. If we keep it to small lights so we can use a first class envelope, insured, confirmation delivery it would be $6 to ship. If we could set it up so the lights went to the next closest person that would keep shipping time down also. It looks like this would take a lot of work from one person to set up.

I just figured I would put it out there and see if we could come up with a good way to do it.

I think this is an interesting idea .a communal box of lights shipped conus .(continental U.S.) I've offered this to another member .A box of lights to try for 3 or 4 days . And maybe add a light to it ,instead of a giveaway why not a passaround ?Hypothetically it might include 10 to 15 different lights .i would pay 6~8$ to play with a bag of lights and I'm sure I have a light to add to the mix .if the box gets too full then a vote as to what should be taken out or possibly sold could be included too.

I think this sounds like a very interesting idea .
