Sorry for for the long delay I thought I had these uploaded already, maybe I didn't hit save?!? This browser is sort of finicky on this website, uploading pics is a chore. Anyway...

The light overall is very nice, it came with the best (seemingly strongest) lanyard I've ever held. It has a thicker piece of rope to hold the light than the usual lanyards. The holster is equally as nice, the belt loop is stitched on well and doesn't feel like it will break off easily, although I don't put much faith in ANY Velcro, the feel of it is nice and smooth, not as gritty as most others.

this is how the light came to me, the USPS was not very nice with my package so the box was smashed a little, but didn't damage any of the important stuff inside! Very presentable box with a 'try me' feature! My friends all looked at the silver reflector when they pushed the button and immediately paid the price lol..

The 18650 adapter sleeve is well made, with the Nextorch brand logo printed on the side, and sharp edges removed.

one thing I REALLY like about this light is the pocket clip. It's a 3/4 clip that snaps on, but unlike others that will pop off, they designed the tailcap to screw down over the clip so there is NO chance the clip will come off if you pull on it laterally.

Overall the the flashlight itself is very well made. I could go into detail about the design of the host and my opinion of its pros and cons but that would just be one mans opinion. although they claim the head will get hot, like many other 1,000 lumen flashlights in this size, it takes quite a bit, so the turbo step down is an unnecessary safety feature IMO. I haven't yet taken the bezel off or tried to remove he pill.

The reflector has a wider base around the LED than comparative p60 drop in reflectors, it's also slightly wider at the top than a p60 reflector but this isn't a p60 light. The reflector is designed to throw, and it does that very well For what it is. It doesn't throw like a c8 but definitely as good or better than most medium sized lights of this nature.

I should say something about the UI. First, this IS a tactical light. My belief is that a tactical light should always come on in High/turbo/brightest mode, and this one does. A quick double press from OFF will put you into strobe mode, but strobe is not accessible from any ON mode you might be in, which could be troublesome to activate if your adrenaline is pumping. I will say the strobe feature is a FAST blink that will disorientate anybody in its' wake! Some of my other flashlight with strobe are slower producing much less of a confusing feeling and more of a club atmosphere with dance lights, the strobe feature of the TA40 is for tactical purposes only!

personally I don't care for 20 modes on any flashlight, this one has 7 modes, which is 4 too many IMO. The SOS feature is accessible with a long half press while in any ON mode, which is nice because it's 'hidden' and won't be accidentally activated until needed, if ever. I don't see a point in SOS on a tactical light but that is just my opinion.

I should also mention that the placement of the pocket clip is nice. While the TA40 is a little bigger than you would ideally want to carry in jeans pockets, you certainly could if you wanted to. The tailcap sticks up enough to provide a good grip to rip it out of your pocket, but not too far so as to get in the way of dropping your pocket knife in there beside it.

I had done a little research on this light prior to receiving it, and one review mentioned the tail switch Being hard to access. The ligh tailstands better than most lights. The tail switch itself is narrow and located next to the cutout, but the design of the cap ridge is low profile so there really isn't much hindrance to getting the button pushed from any orientation in a hurry with light gloves. I'm usually wearing mechanics gloves. Thick leather gloves are troublesome while using ANY light.
