Romisen RC-2R4 w/XPG-R5

Whoa...I was poking around on shinningbeam's website and it looks like Brian has an XP-G R5 romisen available. Any thoughts on this light? http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-218/**NEW**-Romisen-RC-dsh-2R4-II/Detail

And here is the light on DX http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.39233

Looks like a pretty generic P60 light - the XP-G version is only $7 more expensive and will have been tested. Romisen have never yet let me down (All from DX) so it will work just fine. Personally I prefer the cleaner lines of something like the Uniquefire L2/Ultrafire WF-504B but that is just taste. Let us know if you get it and how you get on with it.

The numbers from my light tests are always to be found here.

I still don't have a p60 light (I'm so far behind) and you like you, I prefer the look/form of the Uniquefire/Ultrafire/Solarforce hosts.

The P60 design has to make many compromises - so far there aren't all that may lights with R5s in them - but they will be coming soon as long as the Chinese can make a profit on them. For a P60 light, this one has a lot going for it. And a little cheaper than Shiningbeam's one. Modes are a matter of taste - I tend to prefer to be able to turn the wick down a bit but others feel differently.

Thanks Don!  That does look like a winner.

I have one and would certainly recommend it. The Solarforce equivalent is quite a bit more expensive - and while I like it, this is just as good.

If I bought one I would pay extra and order from Shining Beam because you know it will have been tested before it's shipped.  Plus it won't take a month before you got it.

2-mode and fwd-clicky don't mix well imho. Plus this light looks boring. Just my 0.02€. Wink

Also note there is no confirmation this actually is a p60 host, event though it indeed looks like it.

All you have to do Al is buy her something and in turn you get to buy yourself something.  Big Smile

I've used to play a lot of MMO games, but when I noticed how much time I waste, gaining nothing, I switched to playing stock market and poker Wink
