I only see ONE 26650. You have two set of lights in the advertisement; one showing a single cell with an XP-L and towards the last pictures the MT-G2 with maybe a longer tube in the light comparison pictures.

Accessories include extension body. That explains the 2x 26650. But the pics show a 1x 26650 configuration. I’m guessing this has some sort of buck boost driver? If so, I hope our driver guru’s here on BLF get their hands on one and reverse engineer it.

I am guessing that if you had a 3cell version with 6amps instead of 3 you would get more bites, it looks like that head could be a good heat sink?

Do you have a fully functioning email address yet Ric? Note, I said ‘functioning’, as in you can and do check it and respond to issues. Theres a few threads and posts here regarding problems, and then to rub salt in the wounds, youre not available on any medium for contact, for months at a time. Not even by PM here it would seem.

Problems with unreliable email hosts etc seem to be a tad drawn out, at the very least, the PM system here works fine. But seems to fare no better for customers looking for answers.

Yea, I had problems with my light awhile back and I was getting PM’s and email responses like once every 12 days in the beginning. The gaps started getting longer when we were trying to work out the details. Had to go through the hassles of getting PayPal involved to get a reaction. Although the problem has been FINALLY resolved , I can see that things haven’t changed. With so much emerging competition, you would think that alone would be a wake up call.

2200 lumens for single 26650 or two of them?

Hand rope, thats a new one! So do we get a lanyard like this now?

I happen to really like shadow lights and I have a few of their models. For those that don’t know, shadow are a mid range light brand, not budget nor quite premium. Build quality is excellent, design more intentional, perhaps only lacking on driver perks and UI when compared with premium brands, but cheaper and relatively easy to mod (at least the older models were).

I’m assuming as the light works on a single cell 26650 battery that it has a boost driver, perhaps similar to the one used on the new fenix PD40 that also utilizes a single cell with MTG2 emitter.

Interesting all the negative feedback that Ric is now getting, I haven’t been all that active as a member now for some time however he used to have a fairly good rep. I’ve ordered through his site before, made queries and got answers. Just my feedback.

I just ordered one.

Seems like it’s a good light for the price… I had few shadow lights, nice built but the output was always so-so (for us flasholics  ) and I ordered few times from Rick before… he always came through… it is usually gets here in about 40 days
But this light and the price is very tempting

Why? I said no more to new lights, but this is an MT-G2 and may work with a single 26650. Even though the product shots has it with just the 1*26650, to me, the beamshots seem to show the light having the extension tube (2*26650) equipped.

I think I'll wait and see whether it works using 1*26650. If it does, it looks like I'll be buying another light.

i agree, nice looking light for a decent price . now only if we know if the heatsinking is good.

Ric,

I went to the web site, now I am confused.

I see lots of good photos / beam shots, but the description says 2x26650 but I have not seen a single photo of the light in the 2 cell configuration.

We do see a few photos of it in an XP-L single cell configuration. Here is a hint when you put an ad togther have the photos match the text. It is much less confusing that way.

It almost looks like a BTU with the MT-G2 and 3Amp configuration. Please post you response in this thread so all can see you are now responsive.

The beam shot photos show it in 2x 26650

Your wife should hide your wallet.

The product page also shows the XP-L version of the light. The beam profile may suggest it's coming from an XP-L, but I'm not sure. So that light in the sink maybe the one with an XP-L.

Yeah, I know. I'm just trying to find reasons why to not buy this light... hahaha. :D

edit: found another possible downside. With its driver, having three modes plus a hidden strobe mode (a good thing), it might be using the Yezl Y3 driver. The stock driver in a Yezl Y3 can drive an MT-G2 without any mods. The downside to this is that I found the stock Yezl Y3 driver to have visible PWM at low and medium levels. For me, I don't like visible PWM.

available on baggood:

(need to get a code for it…)

^ I see, it comes with either XP-L or MT-G2 and the MT-G2 version requires the 2x26650 configuration.

Maybe I miss something here. The Yezl Y3 driver has a side switch integrated with it but this JM30 doesn’t, right?
