very lightweight, I don’t have any spydercos so I cant compare, but my fingers are getting sore trying to do the one handed open/close, hopefully I will get better at it. and/or it loosens up a bit, but it’s pretty nice and very sharp like most ganzos
I have what might be one of the ugliest knives I have ever seen. My neighbor with a heart of gold knows I collect a few knives. Nothing crazy or too outlandishly expensive. I think the most expensive knife I have was $100 and the cheapest is probably about $6 or so. He brings this god awful thing over to me about a year ago, I smile real big and thank him for thinking of me. Now it has been in my knife drawer trying to make sure the rest of the knives don’t try and escape. It’s a solid, heavy, spring assisted, razor sharp, shiny damn thing. I just can’t stand knowing it’s in my house. So what I offer is a trade. Now I need a 16650 battery or two but I will take just about anything you want to throw in a padded envelope or something. Ugly flashlight? Fine. Another ugly knife? Sure why not. Maybe we could play Ugly knife swap or something with the entire group. You don’t even have to tell me what you are sending me. Just message me and I will give you my address and I will get yours and ship this darn thing off. If you have to have this more than me it’s all yours.
On my framelocks it’s usually not missing lubricant that makes them “scratch” but dirt around the detent ball.
I take a piece of paper, pull up the lockbar a bit and slide it between the detent ball and the blade.
Then I open/close the knife 3-4 times, take out the paper with a black spot and the knife is smooth again.
Thanks a lot. That actually makes sense, it was scratching and with audible noise.
I was suspicious there are dirt on carbon fiber detent ball. So I pointed and sprayed lubricant on the detent ball, hope that it disolve and clean any dirt there. This is my first knife with cf detent ball, so i was thinking WTH, maybe stainless steel ball is better.
Love it, I’ve got to get one of these. Nice choice the green color.
Is it super light weight?
I should have got one when there was a deal from one of the aff linkers a while back, think it was around 7 bucks.

Thanks, that’s what I thought and why I want one.

Are you doing it like this?
(My preferred opening method on these, once I got this method down I use it for all my knives with a hole and am unwilling to go back to any other method!)

The “Spyder Drop” :
Only takes a little practice to master, then you’ll be doing it every time you draw out the knife! It’s just so natural!

No, that works fine, I was referring to pushing the lock and snapping wrist, there’s some vids about this but its tougher on the ganzo cause the lock spring seems stiffer and you cant get much of a grip on the scales due to its smaller size, also the lock has a U shape and its kinda painful when you try it over and over, similar to the G10 pain on the axis models, but iindex finger is being used and abused. it probably is easier to do on larger handle models. I tried some oil on the pivot but seems worse, maybe I will loosen the screw a touch, for $7 your not gonna go wrong if you can find that deal again
I do not know if it is a good idea if it has ball bearings. I hear that with bearings and lub it gets slower. I can not test that.
I took apart dozens of my folders with ball bearings for cleaning the past years and adding some light lube (not a greasy one) always made them better.

That U shape on the lock is called the Boye dent (it’s for preventing unintentional unlocking).
Ganzo F759M and my old school Spyderco Delica side by side. The Ganzo weights 66 g (2.33 oz) while the Delica with the lanyard 57 g (2.01 oz).
Guys, some posts ago I think I saw someone post a triangular diamod honning/sharpenening device pretty cheap to improve the factory edges not to re-profile blades where is that link i want one one those things.

On my knives I feel that grease makes the ball bearings slower, oil is no problem.
But I use my SRM Land 910+, my Malyshev Gnome, and my Vespa Neon without any lubricant at all.
Working like a charm and doesn’t collect so much dust.
Only my TiLock clone and my Real Steel Griffin run on bearings with some grease but they are no flippers even though they could flip great with attachable flipper tabs like on the LionSteel Tre…
Mine doesn’t do that and it has a rock solid lock-up without the slightest movement not like the one on the video. Jimi might get a lemon.
The worst case Adahn could make you a replacement G10 scale with a smaller cut out or even a CF one!
Ps. I made the effort and I could flip mine open too. I’m still not a front flipper fan.
Well, order 2 of these little fellas to my address (when they are on sale if you like) and get one back with a cf scale.
I could even include a (simple) pattern and fill it up with gidt epoxy.
Just made some shopping cart coinless keys and included a smiley one one and alien eyes on the other one.
Of course I forgot to take pics before gifting it to my sister and my b-i-law.
The skull didn’t work out so well but I guess I’ll try another one.
wow, yes I see what you mean there. I only have a few frame locks (I’m not really fond of them) but none of mine have a cutout on the other side of the handle like that. That is definitely design flaw IMO. Looks like a high chance of it closing up on you when you grip the handle, pushing the lock bar back off.
On the ones I have gripping it would move the lock bar further in, thus locking even tighter.
I think i could manage with the “design flaw” on the 5009 but the knife im looking for is for my 11yr old son so i wouldnt dare give him that.
He is already flicking my 7010 fully with his thumb

Still mising a Ganzo 7511 that im wating to arrive. I discovered that I fancy more flippers knives ,especially with ball bearings or roller berings like the ruike.
Is it super light weight?

Personally I won’t repay for it. The delay and pain of waiting is just too much for 3.5 month. So a free knife is what I earned.
I am very new to knife. I use multipurpose lubricant below. Hope that I didn’t spoil the knife, it might not be as smooth as it should now.

That’s the date of releasing of that model. The number is the month and the triangle is the year.
Steve figured that out here.

Sewing machine oil for me. I use that oil for folders.
