I just bought 6 of these 3 mode guys. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221613359492 They took one week to ship. I’ve been out of flashaholic buying for a while. Less than $5.00 used to be a deal. $3.79 made me get a few for gifts. Did I do ok, or is this the new average price for SK68?
These will make good gifts for non-flashaholics (aka muggles)
No way in hell they are 1200 lumen anything (maybe a typo with an extra 0 )…you might get 100~lumens, possibly 200~ running on 14500 Li Ion, but on AA that people will use you get approx 100~ lumens.
These are good enough flashlights…at that price you did very well
They are 3 mode, next mode memory, if you want you can open em up, and put pencil lead across the capacitor letting it timeout back to high in about 5-10 seconds…
As a way of comparison, last month I ordered 10 silver one-mode SK68 clones off Amazon for $3.33 each. This same ad is now up around $4.50 give or take. So $3.79 is a good price for a three-mode.
As noted, the 1200 is a number they pulled out of the air. These lights used to be advertised as 250-300 lumens. I figure on a good AA you’ll get 80-100 and on a good 14500 you’ll get between 200-300 which is actually more than fine. An SK68 loaded with AA is more than most folks actually need and is brighter than a 5D cell maglight if using an incandescent bulb. So it makes for a very nice gift, which is why I purchased so many.
I figured what the heck, so I made an order on the $2.52 SK68. At the least it’s a cheap host to play around with since I’ve been getting into modding.
Noted the seller had 90 negative out of 9K positive but none of the negative involved these lights.
