Looking for a small, leightweight 18650

Hello,

I’m looking for a small, leightweight 18650.
I want to use it as a Headlamp with the Fenix Headband (no Angle light).
Can you recommend me a Flashlight with good flood and a still a little throw?

Thanks

Do you have a budget?

BTW - how much throw vs flood? As one usually comes at the sacrifice of the other.

The Convoy S2+ is a very nice 18650 for the money. You’ll struggle to buy more light for this price.

If you want smaller you may want to look at something like an EagleTac D series light. Very slim and compact for an 18650, the twisties are shorter than the clickies.

How about the Olight S20 - it’s one of the smallest 18650’s - Lo, Med & Hi + hidden moon & strobe - side clicky - bright.

What I like about these lights is that you can order them customized to your specific needs.

I agree as long as you don’t get a green tint like mine!

Thanks!
I think I will order the Convoy S2+
Which LED would be best for my needs?

BTW: Are the Sanyo 2800mah Batteries good or should I buy Keeppowers?
Are there any differences in Performance at cold temperatures?

As far as the LED, that is really more of a personal preference on the tint. IIRC, I ordered the 6500-7000K. The driver is something you’ll want to put some thought into as well. The driver in your link is a 7135*3 so it will pull 1050mA. You can add 7135 chips that will yield:

7135*3 output current 1050mA
7135*4 output current 1400mA
7135*6 output current 2100mA
7135*8 output current 2800mA

Thus the LED will be brighter with more chips, but at the cost of run time. And 7135*8 will get quite hot on high so that is something to consider. I chose the 7135*3 because 500 lumens is very bright but since this is an EDC light I wanted to maximize my run times. As an approximate, I should get 500 lumens on high, 200 on medium and 25 on low with run times of 2hr 47min on high, 6 hours on medium and 49.5 hours on low using a good 18650.

In regards to the Sanyo, they should be very good batteries.
