It’s true! I received it in good time from Amsterdam. I’ve been working out of town as of late so I’ll get it all prepared for its next destination ASAP! I may need a week though as I only get home on Friday August 21. My apologies for any delay. It’s coincidence that it’s arrived during one of my out of town stints.

Don’t forget to take it out and show it the town. Smile

Hey Jos, I had a look at the red nano light and it appeared the led pin contacts were a bit iffy and might need tweaking to get contact on both.

It works alright. Smile Already had a look inside to see if I could fit another led (5mm through-hole 3200K 95CRI), but that looks all glued.

I already modded a couple of those with warm white 5mm LEDs. was an easy mod, here in post #5: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/38680

Ok a quick update for everyone. I’ve had the cache for a while now but I keep getting shipped up north for work. I’ll be back next week and I fully intend on fulfilling my part of this very cool travelling geocache. Sorry for the delays! I’ll do my darnedest to get it going and off to Halo.

Cheers!

I wonder who is going to keep the micro Solitair and charger and what will go in the box next.

Sorry everyone for the long delay! I’m workin on it. I took a photo with the geocache box that I feel represents a landmark for Manitoba: the World class channel catfish fishery that we have. One of my favourite hobbies. This 28lb kitty could have fit three of the geocache boxes in its big face.
On a side note, (seeing as this is a flashlight forum) I’ll slip in a word on how much I love my armytek wizard pro. My fiancée and I both use them on a regular basis. They get covered river muck, tossed around in hiking bags, and in winter they constantly put up with -35c frigid brutal wind on our Ice fishing adventures…and they never skip a beat!

Anyways, here is a photo of the BLF travelling geocache being brutally attacked by a typical fat cat.

Man, I miss Canada. Not the part you’re in, though. The nice part, where we were smart enough to maroon all the politicians on an island… Silly

Really? You don’t miss the mosquito infested parts where winter hits -40c and lasts 75% of the year?

Wow, sorry! I thought I responded. I did write a response but it seems I somehow didn’t send it. Probably hit “preview”, thought it was sent and closed the tab. :~
Sorry for delaying the box guys.

Actually not sure how I got on the list. Big Smile
I’m just watching the adventures from afar atm.

Sounds good. And Canada post is outrageously expensive so I’ll go today or tomorrow to price out shipping. Thanks everyone and sorry for the delays!

So I got a quote for shipping to the Philippines to Brein. It will cost $11 CAD to ship air packet which does not have any tracking and will take 2-3 business weeks.

It will cost $50 to ship with tracking :~

More than I had hoped with tracking and tracking would be a must if It is indeed a corrupt customs. What are people’s thoughts? I know that I signed up for this as it is a fun idea and especially cool to get it going around the world! I just didn’t anticipate it costing $50. I’d appreciate others thoughts on it before any decisions.

And forgot to say, there is no tracking in our country. The moment it arrives at our customs, everything is out of the radar. This is the bad thing about our country, an item arrives in less than a week from any country, but takes months to actually receive the item here.

Wow! That is brutal. Very unfortunate. Perhaps I will ship it to the next on the list then. Sorry for any inconvenience but it seems the best option to do so.
