LCK LED--Bad experience. The saga Continues. Resolved

I bought a bunch of LEDs and stuff through their website on 2-9, and almost a month later it still shows pending. After multiple emails, they finally responded that the order never got entered and offered to ship express (whatever that is) the next day. I said OK. Several days later, the order still says pending, and (again) they are not responding to my emails. Will start a PayPal dispute next week.

It seems they give priority to their Ebay customers (who can give negative reviews), so I would buy through Ebay if you have to. Use their website at your own risk.

Also, in researching them, it seems MAYBE LCK LED and LED DNA are the same outfit???

This is too bad, really, because I probably bought 1,000 5mm white LEDs from them back when that was all there was. It was always through Ebay though. This was my first (and last) experience with their website.

LCK LED=Buyer beware.

PS I only went there because the usual suspects + Mouser and Digikey didn’t have any warm white XM-L2s. In doing a Mouser order last night, I checked for them, and they have a ton of warm whites including the elusive 90CRI 3000K XM-L2s .

I kinda think so too…

Just based on the orders I have recieved from them, all of the packaging/labeling is identical except for one line: The company name.

I have ordered through both on ebay, and also on LED-DNA’s website. I have had very good experiences with both, though the ebay orders definitely shipped faster.

I have not ordered from LCK LED’s website.

Well, it’s been a month since I placed the order and a week since they promised to ship my misplaced order “tomorrow”, and my order still shows “pending”. Only one out of a dozen emails have been replied to—the one promising to ship my order “tomorrow”. The rest have been ignored.

PayPal dispute started.

If you must deal with LCK LED, do it through Ebay, where they seem to take at least some care of their customers.

So the saga with LCK LED continues. I put together a timeline for the upcoming PayPal claim, which I can file 7 days after I started the dispute.

2-9-2015 Ordered LEDs and stuff, paying extra for expedited shipping and tracking.
2-10 Order says “pending”.
3-2 Order still says pending. Emailed them asking if something is wrong with order.
3-5 LCK responds: Sorry, we misplaced your order. Can ship expedited (which I already paid for) “tomorrow” or refund.
3-5 Since I had a business relationship with them over ten years ago, I respond go ahead and ship. In hindsight, should have asked for refund right there.
3-6 Order still says pending. I emailed asking did you ship? No response.
3-7 Order Still says pending. I emailed asking did you ship? No response.
3-8 Order still says pending. I emailed asking if they shipped, and if I do not hear from them in 24 hours will start PayPal dispute. No response.
3-9 Started PayPal dispute. Message sent to LCK LED (through PayPal) said I no longer wanted the product and now want the refund he offered on 3-5.
3-9 Response from LCK: Sorry, we misplaced your order. Will ship this afternoon— heard that one before haven’t we?
3-9 I replied do not ship. I want the refund you offered on 3-5.
3-9 Order status changed from pending to processing.
3-11 Order status: Processing. No refund or response from LCK, I emailed through PayPal and directly that I want a refund—crossing my Ts at this point.
3-13 Order status: Processing. No refund or response from LCK, I emailed through PayPal and directly that I still want a refund, and will start a PayPal claim ASAP.
UPDATE:
3-14 I upped my game a bit. I emailed him again requesting a refund, and that if I don’t get it I will go to other websites and document my experience with him, pointing out that LCK LED and LED DNA are run by the same man. That got a response. See below.
3-14 just past midnight. He emails me saying “refund has been issued, check it”. Then another email immediately after saying “refund issued, check it and the product was shipped. I quickly emailed him back (through PayPal) requesting the refund transaction number (since I don’t see it in my PayPal transaction history) and the sipping tracking number.
3-16 36 hours later, no refund, no transaction number, and no tracking number. PayPal claim tomorrow.

Deal with LCK LED at your peril. If you must, go through Ebay, and use a credit card. You’ll have much better options if they try to stiff you like they did me.

Agree with using ebay, disagree with using a credit card. It’s much easier to get money back through PayPal.

How about PayPal through a credit card? Best of both worlds.

Anyways, the plot thickens. Friday around noon, I emailed him, saying if I don’t receive a refund, I will document this fiasco on every website I can think of, pointing out that LCK LED and LED DNA are run by the same person. That got his attention. Friday night, just after midnight my time, he emailed me saying that a refund was issued. Then another email saying the product was shipped. I immediately emailed him back (through PayPal dispute page) that I did not want the product, but a refund per his offer. I also asked for a tracking number for the shipment and a transaction number for the PayPal refund, since I wasn’t seeing either.

36 hours later, there is no refund in my PayPal history, he won’t give me a transaction number and my order on his website still shows “processing”. He still refuses to give me a tracking number.

He knows the PayPal claim is coming (tomorrow). I think he’s played this hand before and is gaming PayPal by saying I’ve been refunded and the product has shipped, even though he can prove neither.

The issue is resolved. Late in the day on 3-16 (the day I could escalate to a claim), they FINALLY refunded my money. They waited till the last minute to issue a REAL refund—the one they said they issued on 3-14 was BS, as I would have been notified by PayPal.

This was my last time doing business with LCK LED. The few times they did respond to emails, they lied. Thank God for PayPal. The formal dispute and threat to escalate to a claim (which I was going to do) was the only thing that got their attention.

After my bad experiences with leddna, orders that never arrived, zero responses from support and PayPal refund I decieded to never buy from them again. The only place I found SinkPads was lck-led so I decided to give it a try:

I bought 4 XPL HIs and 10x 5degree TIRs. I recieved the leds but only 2 of the 10 TIRs ordered and those the wrong size. After 2 support tickets and no response after 12 and 5 days accordingly I give up with them. I dont want my money back I just want people to know how these two shops work… (probably run by the same person)…

A small product review: The 5 degree convex collimators they sell are crap. (havent found anything throwier than 10degrees anywhere else and wanted to try this 5degree collimator). They are NO collimators/TIR they are just a convex lens like those on a zoom light. Lumen output was reduced from 1300lm to 550-600lm on my test flashlight. Beam was not much throwier than the 10degree TIR…

I had very good exeriences with FT and KD, I can only recommend these sellers and I will buy from them from now on…

Thanks for reading and be aware!

My first order last year went well if i remember correctly, but the one i placed more then 2 month ago is still “pending”. I already sent two emails which were ignored as far as i can tell…

Thankfully there’s only $10 involved. Unless the package shows up at some point in the near future, i’ll certainly avoid this shop.

Any updates about this company?
Once Ive bought this driver from ebay: http://www.lck-led.com/constant-current-driver-dc10-p-1210.html?cPath=135
I even dont remember where it is now (probably I build some custom light from random parts laying around and presented to somebody), but I still havent seen it for the second time so hopefully it still working well.
Would like to have more this drivers, but seems that they closed ebay store and it doesnt sound good.

Heh. I tried ordering that driver from an ebay seller earlier this year, (one that carried a variety of wares) and they cancelled the order a few days later because they could no longer get it.

Avoid this LCK LED like a plague. After ordering and not receiving, I began to email them. No response. Decided to raise complaint to paypal.

After a while Paypal decide to close case and agree with them. I’m kind of shock but without proof I’m pretty much have no case.

So, I end up did not receive my items and lost USD$26. This online retailer has a very bad sales service. Not very prompt in replying and does not have a tracking number for your order.

Becareful.

I bought some TIRs from LEDDNA. Shipped a 3-4 days later and showed up about 2 weeks later.
