Advices a 2500+ lumens flashlight.

Hi everyone !

I’d like to buy a powerful flashlight to illuminate the woods at night.
I’ll need like 2500 – 4000 lumens power with XM-L2 or maybe Luminus.

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-Power-8000-Lumen-30W-5X-CREE-XM-L2-LED-Diving-Flashlight-Torch-Waterproof-100m-Depth/32290201917.html

Thats a cool afordable flashlight i found on aliexpress, very powerful, waterproof and with a cool magnetic switch. What do you think of it ? It’s the Skyray SY-068 and it seems to be around 3000l umens. Thank you !

If this torch is going to be needed on a regular basis, then I would recommend you invest in a set of more reliable batteries, likewise with the charger. As for the torch that is up to you, choose the design that you like best, you’ll have a better experience with a light with good track record

TR-J18 is about 4000 lumens and can be had at around $45 these day…. one of my favorite light Big Smile

The only way to do a great work is to love what you do.

You need this light to illuminate the woods at night, a multi led reflector setup may not be the best choice because of the floody beam and cool white tint, it won’t reach very far and have poor color reproduction. For me 2,000 lumens is more than enough for outdoors, anything beyond that is a waste of battery life and unnecessary heat.

If you’re willing to mod, which is just a very easy emitter swap, I recommend the Yezl Y3 + extension tube modded with an MT-G2. It will give you about 2,000lm but in outdoors throw is more important than just high output. This will go for about $45. http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_68858.html

If you’re willing to spend a little bit more, have a look at the shadow JM30 with MT-G2. For $65 you can get excellent build quality and tons of light. http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=2216

Now my personal favorite in this class is the JAX X6 Hunter. For $85 this one comes with the new XHP50 LED and a large reflector so it should provide decent throw, and jax is know for flawless finish and build quality. Plus this one looks really awesome. http://www.banggood.com/JAX-X6-Hunter-CREE-XHP-50-20W-White-Light-LED-Flashlight-p-967844.html

All of the above uses 2×26650. I recommend skipping the “batteries and charger bundle” and get them separately instead.

I hope the OP is still around to see this…

I’m thinking of buying it just for the batteries.

Battery Model:26650.
Capacity (mAh):7200mAh.
Cell type:Li-ion.
Voltage (V):3.7V.

Nice! Sure blows way my xtr’s with only 4000 mah!

No please don’t. Just don’t. These capacity number are fake. Do you want good 26650 batteries? Try here.

There is no such thing as 7,200mAh 26650. Those in the bundle are probable under 2,000mAh real capacity.
