Weapon Light to replace my Nitecore MT21A.

I have a Nitecore MT21A mounted to the side of my AR. The XPE R2 is my favorite emitter out there since the XRE Q5.

I love the throw on it, it rates 10,000 at the hotspot and this is my favorite light since the TK20. Currently, it is the downright furthest throwing 2AA out there. I have not been able to find a single AA or 2AA , that has a hotspot of 10,000lux.

Your proabalb ywondering how I got a pressure switch for the MT21A since they don’t make one for it. I used a pressure switch from 18650 light and basically taped it down. Yes tape. As I said, I cannot find a light with 10,000luz and a weapon light needs throw not OP reflectors or flood. Pure throw.

What are my options?

I do not mind 18650, 14500 or AA. These I already have.
It must have a smooth reflector and have a pressure switch available. Not looking to spend more then 30. Thats how much the MT21A cost.

The convoy L4 would be great, its juz under USD$30 at FT with the BLF code

I am assuming that you did not buy or build the cheapest AR there is. So why not spend a couple extra and get a Nitecore P10 or P12, both with available pressure switch (unless you already have).

The P10 can be had for $40 to $42 and the P12 $52 to $55

Wasnt one of the MaxToch lights perfect for rifle mounting, and had excellent throw? Over $30, and not sure re pressure switch, but given its main purpose was rifles, Id say it does.

How about an HS-802? Great throw for the size and an available remote mount switch.
Or you can always get a nice Solarforce with a XP-G2 or XR-E dropin and remote switch.

That’s almost the route I went, without the remote switch.
Solarforce L2P with a custom Xpg2 s2 2b at 3 amps smooth reflector Single mode fully potted and bullet proof.
I also added a couple o-rings between the battery and drop in so the battery wont get driven into the drop in under recoil.

Hey guys. I’m so confused lol.
Please relaise, I am a nooby, newb, nub, when it comes to flash light. I was hoping for a link so I can make.a purchase. I would pay you custom modders, and love to beat 10k candela but I think those maybe out of my budget. I paid 30 bucks for 10k candela on my mt21a. All i need is a pressure switch. I can’t have a a pressure switch for the mt21a so I am.looking for a whole setup ready to go around 30. How about this:

Just get this and the a pressure switch and mount.

The XinTD C8 linked above is probably the best version of that size light, several reviews of it and all are positive. Plus it has the XP-G2 to get more throw when compared to other C8 size lights. I think that would give you around 40klux(?), so you’ll see about twice as far as with your MT21 (estimate only). If you’re in the US then mtnelectronics is an excellent vender and that setup would be about $40 after shipping.
If you can save up and spend closer to $80 for a setup, then the Maxtoch M24 is highly recommended and you can buy a pressure switch for it. Unfortunately it’s out of stock right now, but it will really light stuff up, probably twice as far as the XinTD mentioned above.

*Caution on 2 cell lights: make sure you have good quality cells and they charge/discharge equally. Otherwise one cell may reverse charge the other and cause it to fail

I read that someone really liked the RA-601 you linked, if you want to go that route then you might consider the RA-602 with a bigger reflector.

Do you think the Q5 will get me above 10L lux on a 18650?
I wish I had researched I would have got the Xin by far the thing looks amazing. RA-602??? WOW, again, should have researched.
I got the smaller one coming. I will def check out the Xin next month.
