Side by side 2 x14500?

Just out of curiosity has anyone seen a nice version of a twin 14500 or 10440 in the style of the ZY-T08? Something flat instead of long.

How about 3 P Singfire 1XT6

Now, I’m not sure if this flashlight is exactly “a nice version of a twin 14500 in the style of the ZY-T08”….

I’ve thought of maybe trying to scratch-build a side-by-side light.

Something like 2x14500 powering 2 XPL.

Idea would be to use 2 separate electronic switch divers (1 for each battery and LED), and hope it works if they’re both wired to the same momentary switch.

I’ve often wondered about a Zippo sized light. Just big enough to fit 2x 14500 side by side. And then use a small TIR optic to make it a flooder style light

Just for curiosity, I looked up Zippo lighters on Amazon.com to see what size they are. If their measurements are to be believed, there is some variance, but basically two distinct sizes. The larger size is roughly around 82mm x 22mm x 55mm, so would easily fit two 18650 cells. The smaller size is around 57mm x 13mm x 38mm, so would not be big enough for 14500’s. Something in between, sized for two 14500 cells, could still be called roughly Zippo sized. But, I was thinking a real Zippo, modded into a flashlight with two Li-Ion cells and a XHP-50, would be sweet! If the switch could be made to activate when you open the lid, that would be awesome!

I admit, I was thinking more the shape than the exact size, although a multi 10440 would be possible I guess.

I built one of these a couple of years back for a customer. Here is the preliminary drawing. The head came apart just past the center and held all the reflector, pill & etc. . If I recall, we put a switch in the body center just behind the head. I do remember it was the pits to build. Innocent What looks like the tail cap was actually machined from the same body stock and did not come off. There was an engraved brass plate made into the end that was removable. The batteries went in from the front. I'd forgotten all about this!!! Now I'll have nightmares again!!Surprised Enjoy. Dan

TL. I'll save RBD the embarrassment of asking. How much? Nice light by the way.

Well MRsDNF, It has been awhile since I built that. But I think it was about $400. I DO recall thinking when I shipped it that it was tooooo danggggeeeedddd cheap! Surprised The machining wasn't too bad but I remember the inside as you folks call them... "bits" were the pits! PITS BITS! Ha! To save setting the thing up 14 times, I did a lot on the mill...then to the lathe, back to the mill... the rascal was all over the shop before it was done. I hope all is good in Aussie land! Dan.
