What battery and LED configuration is best for my design?

Hi
I am in industrial designer, and not at all familiar with electronics. I am designing a product that needs to light two LEDs and have user changeable batteries. The factory is not giving a lot of feedback. Could someone help me by looking at the following 4 configurations and rating them in order of brightest light and longest battery life? I chose these components because of the physical battery size.

The battery life should be at least 20 hours.
The light distance only needs to be 4 inches.
I don’t know what LED size is best, nor if things like resistors affect the outcome.

Thanks for your input!
Mardi

1. two AG10 1.5v, 72 mAh batteries with 2 LEDs
2. two CR1220 3v, 40 mAh batteries with 2 LEDs
3. one CR1632 3v, 130 mAh battery with 2 LEDs
4. two CE1620 3v, 79mAh battery with 2 LEDs

  1. is only 6.5mA to power just one led for 20 hours. For two LEDs it’s only~3mA. Barely on at all.

Rufus,
Thanks for the reply. “Barely on at all” sounds bad, but hard to visualize.
Would 6.5mAh be bright, because I might be able to double the batteries.

Any thoughts on the other configurations?
Many thanks!
Mardi

we flashaholics think a LED is bright when it gets a least 3000 mA

:open_mouth: might be a bit challenging to hit that number. haha
