*****Eagle Eye X6 heatsinks ******CLOSED RUN #3 STARTED

Hey guys im just posting this thread on any interest on having more X6 heatsinks done ??? i would need 50pcs either of copper or aluminum or half and half

here is the original thread https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/31250?page=8#comment-761762

and i can have the made like Mitko ONLY IN ALUMINUM though where they are 2.8mm higher so u dont need to use the stock glass lens for little extra cost, so post any thoughts on the size change and what u like to order thanks

Raise the height, but keep the same diameter so it stays snug.

Anyone knows if these same spacers can be used in the X6R?

sounds good to me if the height is raised, more material the cooler the LED :)

I’ll take one (1) aluminium triple heatsink

The extra height sounds good to me.

Yeah I didnt jump in last time, but I think I will this time.

If the optic sits nice in the head of the X6, then I agree in eliminating the need to use the lens as well.

With plastic lenses a lot depends on how you care for them and how much you care about them. They will scratch and wear more than glass if tossed around but are less prone to cracking. The weakness in these particular optics is in the legs which can snap off, mostly from shearing forces when installing or removing the bezel. That said, I still like the cute –3 over every other multi emitter optic I’ve tried in the past 7-8 years. 35mm(MR-11) may or may not be as ubiquitous as p60’s (closer if you include older bike light designs using MR-11 halogens) but it’s certainly a well tested platform size even before the X-6 came along. Cutter has been marketing a DIY bike light using them for years. I guess I come down on the side of the fence where putting a glass lens(no matter how clear)in front of an optic is redundant. A reflector absolutely must be protected since it cannot be safely cleaned whereas an optic while never again being as good as new can easily be re polished without removing any coatings.

If you build it they will come.

I'm in for probably 3, described with raising the height, I'm fine with that. Not sure yet for copper or alum, or combo.

I’m in for a copper one. Thanks

Ciao

I’m in for 1 definitely (maaaybe two, but don’t quote me on it)… not picky on copper or aluminum. (Preferably whichever is cheaper; i have too many flashlight projects that are sucking up my money hahaha). I like the raised height idea.

Ally cheaper, lighter, and the benefits of copper I believe outside the MCPCB have shown little gain? IIRC, copper can absorb more heat, but ally sheds the heat better?

But Id be down with whichever too.

I’d be interested in 1-3 aluminum depending on price.

The price for the copper is still the same, as for the aluminum it might be $1-2 more i should no soon when my mechanist gets back with me

Prices can be located in the OP LINK

I’m in for 1 or 2 in Al.

2 Al

I’d be in for two as I missed out on the 1st run. Ta.

Aluminium would be fine.

2 Alu.

Are you planning on selling these as whole kits again? Optics, emitters, spacer, driver…
