This looks interesting... New Klarus smart charger

New charger from Klarus… The CH4S

I will wait for HKJ’s assessment, but it looks good so far…

The look is very similar to Nitecore D4

Looks better than Nitecore D4 in that it has a completely separate display for each battery and shows battery capacity, two things I wish D4 had.

Two different things there, I wonder if it can tell the difference between
— a cell where there’s a protection circuit that operated
— a cell that’s actually completely discharged

I wonder why there’s a low temp. limit of freezing; surely there’s nothing in it that would freeze, sitting on a shelf unused?

Damn, and I just ordered the D4. Two things I want are faster charging, and capacity. Unless I am reading wrong, it looks like this has both?

I have an Opus v2.2 on the way…. I will see what HKJ says before I get one…

It looks very much like the Nitecore. I anybody see it for sale somewhere please send me a link.

In confused about the charging current.
Does it only charge at 1000ma when slots 1and 4 are used or will it also be able to charge at 500 ma in slots 2and 3 while slots 1 and 4 charge at 1000ma?

I am not happy about the shipping cost, it is more than $20.

Banggood will soon add to their new arrivals… I am sure

There is a guy here that is related to banggood or something… Maybe we can talk him…

Yeah!

It can charge 3.8 v batteries!!! (4.35v end charge voltage)

Niiiiice

Lets see if hkj tests it and see if it has the same problems than the klarus ch1…

I hope to, but that one from US was a bit to expensive: Charger $40, shipping $20, customs about $40 (A parcel will often be caught in customs).

Wait until banggood makes it avalable for less price and free shipping…

Someone hide one in a big stuffed teddy bear for HKJ.
Do they charge for gifts from individuals (hand written label, “Happy Birthday” stickers)?

Depends, there are a couple of rules, including a monetary limit. When they catch something they often opens it and checks the internet for retail price and if that price is higher than the one declared on the parcel they will increase it.

With envelopes the problem is much less, I do seldom pay any custom fees for small stuff from China when it is slightly above the very low limit ($12). I.e. a envelope with two cells for $15 will usual not be stopped.

We can work on something for getting one to HKJ, after the Klarus CH1 review, I will be waiting to hear from HKJ first… Not that the CH1 is bad, just not as good as I would have hoped. Thanks again HKJ for everything you do here, your reviews are outstanding!

It doesn’t look like it has a discharge+charge mode to determine battery capacity. It only displays charging capacity.

Apparently it’s like the Fenix (either relabeled or cloned or copied, I dunno).

pm sent gearbest has it on special, code CH4SGB at the moment, $27

Too bad it doesn’t have discharge capacity.
Still, it looks good but I’d rather wait for HKJ review before buying one.
