The danger of using magnets without superglue is that they can shift around and short out the battery if they touch the wall. Maybe a weaker form of glue that will keep them in place without being permanent?
I would use a magnet but instead of gluing to the 18650 I’d glue it into a plastic disk / washer just to keep it from shifting out of place. I would cut a plastic disk out of a soda bottle cap.
I would place the magnet into a hole in the middle of a 18mm diameter plastic disk. The plastic just serves to keep the magnet centered. No risk of shifting out of place.
I am actually gonna super glue several local coins that are just slight smaller than 18mm (17.7mm to be exact) and use them as spacers. They shouldnt move around due to the pressure exerted on them by the springs.
What do you guys think?
Would my method increase the resistance of the batt carrier?
