ReManG, call me a ludite but if this forum allowed me to upload a photo like ebay or craigs list it would have been done, thanks for the lead on tinypic I will see if I can figure it out, I am on an XP machine with ie8 so I have gotten used to lots of the internet just not working.
I am not being a smart ass. It is a fact all h51 look the same unless they have been modified or damaged. I think it would be different if somting was unique about the light. I “could have” linked it to an exisiting on line photo and simply said it was mine (and for all intensive purposes) it would look “exactly” not sort of similure, but exactly like the one I am selling, but I didn’t.
I get the idea of wanting to see the product. That is why I linked some reviews.
Consider that I have a lot more posts then you and have been open about were I live.
Please dont try to impune my character as a reason you dont want to take advantage of a sale.
BTW I explicitly offered to send you photos but for some reason that offer was not sufficent for you.
Not impugning your character Ronin42, just writing what I thought about the situation. I will not buy something I cannot see, and your offer that it “looks like every other H51” denotes to me that you may lack the attention to detail that owning something brings. Our items age so slowly sometimes, we do not see the flaws….
I recently posted several items for sale, and had many detailed questions from potential buyers about things I had not even considered as I had not looked at the items AS the buyers were doing. Trust is important, even in this minimal acquaintance, but social situation here on the internet and this forum. Establishing trust by writing 3000 word descriptions of the light would have been preempted by three pictures uploaded, you did neither and I stated I did not want to buy the item due to this… (the 3000 word description is from the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words, easier today on both counts than the late 1800’s)
I would admire you for being a Luddite if that were your actual calling, but to blame an otherwise excellent forum for not allowing you to upload a picture smacks (in my humble opinion) of a “stick-in-the-mud” attitude, if I am wrong, it is not the first time. I did not have any photo hosting sites until I joined this forum, I had not liked a forum enough to do so before. This forum does not have the direct ability to upload images, but that is a minor fault to me, more than worth the work around…
I understand your hardware limitations, I can only suggest an older version of FireFox may be more versatile for browsing on your machine. I know mine was faster a couple of years ago prior to me being able to upgrade when I used FireFox. And CCleaner helped with clearing out the excessive files.
I would send you my personal email to get the pictures, if I felt that was what I wanted. The totality of the situation did not warrant it, I apologize if that offended you, I did not mean to offend you.
