I have ordered them. I will be reviewing a 4800mAh 21700 very soon (from a rewrapper).

This iJoy 21700 40A Facepalm 3750mAh was recently reviewed by Mooch. At just a bit below the capacity of an NCR20700B and up to 24A continuous, great cell.

Cheers

Ok, I have just used some more money.
My queue is fairly long, this means it might be some time before I test this cell.

How about the PKcell 14500?
Seems to be more than 800 mAh and lower Ri than good old Sanyo.

You reviewed the BTY NiMH cells a few years ago as junk.

Have they or any of the other cheap NiMH sources produced anything worth buying?
They’re still really big on eBay, no surprise.

There’s a report which says they are good.

I have ordered the 14500, I will wait a bit with the 10440.

Yes, but I wonder where that cell is, I do not remember receiving it.

I’m also curious about the 9v rechargeable that Barkutl posted above
http://www.allmaybe.com/products_detail/productId=39.html

I see the company has smoke detector instructions linked to that page.
A longer-lasting rechargeable cell for those would be handy.

It says primary battery, it is not a rechargeable battery!
I will ask Allmaybe about them, but there is shipping restriction on lithium batteries.

They where in my inbox, where I put everything I do not have time to look at when I receive it. I will start a test on them later today.

So, PKCell 14500 is already in the review queue…

How about the PKCell 18350 (IMR and ICR)?

14500 LiIon with 1.5V output. Is it just buck with stable 1.5 volts throughout the discharge?

They say 1.6 Ah and 2.4 Wh, so probably yes.

Saw the PKCELL ICR14500 review very recently, and remembered about the NICJOY cells (back in May!).

Did The Kraken sunk the slow boat they were shipped on? Big Smile

Test data have been ready for some time and they are in my internal lottery about what cell to publish next.

The  NICJOY ICR14500 is probably the cell which would grab more attention here, its price is quite attractive.

As always, thanks Henrik.

I know HKJ will review them but I have bought them 3 years ago. (around 30 of aa and aaa) Some of them are still active while some of them died. Capacity seems nothing special comparing to quality alkaline 1.5V batteries that seems to last a lot longer …

Only advantage of those is that they are rcr imho so they save $.

Looking forward for review.

Sorry luminarium iaculator but, seriously? Those cells I pointed out are low self discharge NiMHs, alkalines can only do better under low drain applications.

Checked out the EBL AA 2300mAh NiMH review recently, top notch cells at an excellent price!

P.S.: pissed off right now, my smartphone screen becomes unresponsive or erratically unresponsive while plugged to a 5V 2A power supply which until now worked nicely. Very recently I used it to feed a DC-DC buck driver and I may have overloaded it, current at the emitter went up to ≈3.4A, @#$%!

A decent protected cell with high drain would certainly interest me to buy now that I have received my Q8

Keeppower has send me a pile of cells to review, but it will be a few months before I get to them, except the 18350, they will be published much sooner.

Hi HKJ,

I’m leaving these two suggestions, but also question: do you have any clue about these cells?
I’m not even sure if they worth a review, or if they were already reviewed (if so, I couldn’t find it).
Here are the links:

MascaratumB,

AWT IMR16340 550mAh (Yellow) @ lygte-info.dk

With regards to the MXJO, slim chance for its capacity rating to be accurate and even slimmer for its amperage one. And I do not mean to say they underspec their products, of course.

Cheers Smile

Minimum order 50

That is a bit too much, but I am fairly low om low capacity LiIon and NiMH cells, i.e. suggestions are welcome.

Thanks Barkuti! I knew I would get lost in all those AW and AWT! Facepalm
Thanks for it and for the explanation about the MXJO! I think they will be less than advertised, buy, maybe it worth a try! Let’s see Wink

Sorry HKJ, I had seen it elsewhere and now I found it! 50 pieces would be tooooo much to test Wink

Through IMR batteries individual pieces are available! https://www.imrbatteries.com/mxjo-16340-700mah-button-top-battery/

If you wanna try them, maybe we can share costs (shipping and battery value), just PM me and we can arrange that Thumbs Up

Generally USA dealers are impossible, the shipping are simply to expensive. A very dedicated dealer may ship to me (It is a couple of years since that happen last), but I will not pay UPS shipping for a few batteries. Chinese dealers are usual more willing to pay UPS for shipping.

Oh, ok! I didn’t realize that Facepalm But you’re right, shipping from abroad is difficult in terms of values. Even in the Europe it is, I paid near 30€ total from buying 3 cells @ NKON (transportation costs were higher than the cells…).

Well, I just wanted to help if there was a feasible opportunity to test those batteries! In any case, thank you Wink If I see them elsewhere, for reasonable prices, I’ll post it here !! Thumbs Up

Shipping of LiIon is a big problem in todays world. The Chinese dealers try to find ways and often do at reasonable cost.
When a dealer/manufacturer sends me batteries for test they often want fast shipping and there the best options is UPS (for now), they often send many batteries i one parcel, making the “per cell” cost lower.
I do usual not care that much about prices, but I will not pay $20 (or more) shipping for a $5 cell.

I do sometimes see creative ways to get around the shipping restriction. I have a few times received some very cheap flashlights, with good batteries inside.

Is there any compilation of information about protection circuits?
I know they’re made by someone(s) and added to cells then shrinkwrapped.

I became curious after getting several “protected” cells that had problems — shutting off when a flashlight went to high brightness; failing to recharge after being reset (sitting in a charger cycling from 4.2v to 0v every few seconds, presumably because the charger was triggering the protection circuit).

If there’s a reliable source for protection circuits in appropriate lengths for 10440 and 18650 cells, I’d like to know where to find them.

someone has already tested the HG6 from LG? has this already been asked? I've searched the forum but the search pointed to pages where there was actually no mention of them
