I have also got a good offer on GTL (IC) 14500 batteries, but after Googling, I found several bad reviews from 2012-2013. They told that GTL was garbage.
On Ebay it’s mostly Ultrafire batteries when I search for 14500 and GTL.
I believe the Sanyo UR14500P 840mAh is still one of the best choices. For protected the KeepPower 840mAh (Sanyo UR14500P with seiko protection). But it might be worth the shipping to get the protected evva UR14500P from mtnelectronics.
What light is it for? Over 3amps? Go with windyfire then.
If you only want to buy from gearbest then I would recommend the keeppower 800mAh 14500. The keeppower 800mAh do not contain sanyo cells, instead they are chinese cells. Seem to be decent quality cells though.
I’ve recently tried the new Trustfire IMR 14500, it’s decent with ~640mAh true capacity ’@ 1A. Voltage drop very low, still maintain ~4V @ 1A after 5 minutes. So it’s a real IMR.
Things to consider for batteries would be budget, capacity, and current. And normally you’ll have to sacrifice two to get higher performance in one.
Well, if you can ignore budget, you only need to choose between capacity vs current delivery. IMR will give higher current with lower capacity, and ICR vice versa.
No worries, the 800mAh ones are still good. And keepower uses quality seiko protection chips.
Here is a detailed test / review by HKJ. Test/Review of Keeppower 14500 800mAh
Remember that with all Keeppowers from Gearbest you can use the code "KEEPPOWER" during checkout for a discount.
Just make sure it reduces the price as it can sometimes increase already discounted items.
Hirsh
P.S. There are many battery (ICR & IMR) related codes on M4D M4X's thread worth using with Banggood. Especially if you want Nitecore's new IMR 14500 cell for maximum amps on something like their EA11 light.
Is Olights 14500 that comes with S15R a good battery?
Stated capacity is 750mAh, however no reviews and no data of cell, I sent message to Olight, hopefully they will answer at least what kind of cell they use.
The idea is to have at least 4 identical 14500 in case I need to run them in my 4xAA or even 8xAA lights, with dummy cells mixed in ofcourse :D!
Or should I just order 4 pieces of UR4500P unprotected ones for 3.9$ a piece and be done with it?
