Can I use protected 26650 in Shadow JM35 (with 2 x 26650) or not?

I have seen an older review from M4D M4X, and he shows it’s possible to use protected cells in Shadows JM35. Still, they have it in big red text on theii site (BangGood) that you should not use protected cells in this light.
I have also seen a discussion one place about this, but of course, I can’t find it now, used the search function, but still no luck.

Can I damage my JM35 if I use protected cells?

Or do it work without damaging the light or the batteries?

I have this one: http://www.banggood.com/Shadow-JM35-CREE-MT-G2XHP-50-1900LM-LED-Flashlight-2x26650-p-984020.html

I have got some unprotected cells, but I have more protected 26650 cells then unprotected. So nice to know if I actually can use the protected cells as well.

Hi, I just got my Jm35 mtg2 and am using Keeppower protected 5200mah and it works fine, the tailcap amp reading on mine was just 5+ amperes. According to HKJ review this Keeppower 5200 protected, trips the protection circuit on 9amps, so it works nice little flood light!

tnx for the info

as miojames said…

it depands when the safety circuit trips.
i think the new two cell jm35 needs less amps as the single cell version.

so it should be less picky with protected cells imho
