Forum rules apply to all BLF members, Yes even when they complain about China Sellers who are also BLF members.

I think BLF forum rules specifically #1-4 EDIT -and especially rule #9 are often broken by a few BLF members who make it seem as if the world were coming to an end for some minor issue with an order from china (that in my opinion most get resolved). The BLF member china sellers sometimes are called liars, cheaters, crooks etc. Occasionally there are even racist remarks that I think at least in Canada would be against the law.

I think members that break rules should be warned and then banned
And I think maybe some would have a happier life if they stopped ordering from China.
I will continue to order from china for the great deals and great service.

Tell us what’s on you mind, Can.

Marc

Sometimes life throw you a curveball :~

Tell us what you really think!

So what are you saying there CAN, sb56637 isn’t doing a good enough job for you? You want run the show? See stricter enforcement?

Lol you sound so aggressive :stuck_out_tongue:

I reserve the right to complain when I need to. Don't particularly care who the seller is. I also think a certain American party would welcome OP to their ideology. Suppression of free speech being paramount. :p

If you don’t like it, don’t read it. SB will take care of it if needed.

Who are you to tell me what I can say?

Read here.

Well, BLF was created to be a place where people can voice their concerns about flashlight products and vendors with a certain degree of freedom without being quelled by cranky moderators and commercial interests. So I don’t usually step in or try to discourage people from discussing bad experiences with vendors, as long as they aren’t being repetitive, annoying, or obviously trying to stir up an argument. However, Can’s point about racist comments is definitely a valid one. We absolutely don’t need to stoop to the filth of racist comments or make sweeping blanket statements (“These Chinese are always liers / lazy / swindlers”) in order to discuss a given issue with a Chinese vendor.

I think the problem is some people think a rasist comment is being made when it’s not.

(“These Chinese are always liers / lazy / swindlers”)

That comment is, but a lot of the angry comments tend to be along the lines of ‘these Chinese vendors are all the same, dishonest’.

But I see that type of comment aimed more at the vendor than the person. And I kind of understand why they are made. But I am not condoning rasism, I just think some members here can misunderstand the comments sometimes.

Marc

Yep, it’s definitely a fine line to walk. That’s why I don’t usually intervene unless the conversation starts getting vicious.

Anyway maybe we should make can a mod. After all, if anyone can, can can!

Sorry can. Just had to.

Marc

When I read the OP I thought that a reasonable discussion was started, perhaps a bit harshly stated. So I am a bit surprised at the many upset responses, even referring to 'fundamental rights'. (although freedom of speech is as important over here as overseas, I am probably not american enough to directly feel restricted in that ;-) )

I agree that there's many posts about bad experiences with chinese vendors, very common experiences unfortunately but not quite news, and I think it helps if those experiences are gathered in the 'rating' threads, where also the good experiences are posted to get a balanced view of a vendor.

What you say sounds very balanced, djozz.

I’ve never broken rule #10 and I think that sb56637 should severely punish anyone who breaks rule #10. I would never think of violating rule #9.

Please don’t confuse my comments as racist when I talk about some of the Chinese merchants, I’m just trying to let everyone know the truth about them. The truth is they are aliens (Ferengi) who stole the honest merchant’s identity.

You can’t see them for what they are because you need a special pair of Roddy Piper sunglasses to see them. (RIP Roddy, you will be missed and never forgotten. It’s a shame that a mysterious blood clot can kill a healthy person.)

Now that I got that off my chest, I’ll get back to searching for some online deals for Reynolds Wrap. I need Reynolds Wrap for er um…. to heat sink my P60 drop-ins. Yes, that’s it. For my drop-ins.

What about rule 34? 8)

There are no exceptions. (keeping it semi-family-friendly…)
