"Batterybro.com" has a whole lot of info on inspecting cells and detecting fakes

This seems worth a look. I ’oogled to find out more about battery grades and found a huge amount of info about identifying fake and poor quality cells at a site called batterybro.com.

Start here: Battery Bro News – 18650 Battery | BATTERY BRO

Hat tip to freeme who posted a picture of battery shipping cartons, and to gauss163, who followed that in When the seller says FOR LG, FOR Panasonic etc...just a other word for fake? writing:

(also mentioned previously, search finds, in My First 18650 Flashlight, the DQG Tiny 18650 III - 18650 Flashlights - BudgetLightForum.com and Test / Review: Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh (Green) - Rechargeable Batteries - BudgetLightForum.com )

interesting website. i like their references to volcanoes and 18650 cells.

Their page also says

They’re a California company (at least a California address).

And they’re a wholesaler, not a retailer, by the way. So they’re a source of information, not batteries — though maybe of interest to people who do resell to us individually.
I’m curious what their prices look like from a retailer’s perspective if any of you care to comment.

There may be more value added for people who frequently put devices containing li-ion cells up against their heads and inhale.
But then again, people who inhale that stuff intentionally may be less risk-averse than us safety-through-flashlight types (grin).

Anyhow, onward …

Nice find, bookmarked Thanks Hank
There is a little backstory on ultrafire, 20 different rewrapers using that name.

Yup, great find Hank… Bookmarked…
