Just received 2 ALU versions in the mail and I noticed* NO PWM* in any of the modes.
congrats on your cool new lights, what LEDs do they use?
regarding PWM
did you try waving it up and down like this just arrived CU Tool with PWM and XPG2. Is your mode sequence MLH like mine? If so, you got PWM bro, and you dont even care (thats ok too, lol)
Is a slower shutter speed the only thing needed to take a picture of pwm like that?
Both are 3 mode, MLH, and use an xp-g2. I don’t have them in front of me at the moment but you could be right, I only did a brief visual check…with lots of ambient light.
EDIT: Discussion of the original light is a bit off topic to the GB so I’ve moved the post one of the review threads.

The easiest way I’ve found to check for PWM is to wave a thin white card rapidly through the beam, against a dark background. With this method, I’ve been able to see PWM up to about 20 kHz.
Here are a couple pics showing how it looks… first at ~500 Hz and then at 4.5 kHz:
Or, with a sensor (or an LED) connected to a nice DMM, the frequency can be measured directly. With this method, I can get precise speed measurements for everything I’ve ever tried (the fastest I tried was 31 kHz, and it worked well).
Since lumintop already makes an ALU twisty, maybe it wouldn’t be that hard for them to include some copper twisty tailcaps?
I would take one in copper :-), hold the magnet, change to keyring style that does not prevent tailstanding

Great images, fortunately we wont be needing to worry about PWM with the ReyLight Tool.. Im really impressed with the package hes put together.
Greetings I am new here. A Google search has lead me here on a quest to obtain a copper version of my favorite flashlight.
Can I get in on this group buy?
Nichia 219B 4500K,91CRI, with the newest none PWM driver. 1-20-100%. highest 85 Lumens (0.5 is too low to happen)
Really happy for the 91 CRI N219 ReyTool!
fwiw, 1% of 85 is 0.85 Happy!
fwiw, I just received a Stock copper Tool (low is 5 lumen), with PWM, and a Copper Maratac Rev 3 (low is 1.5 lumen) with No PWM.
Note the latest Maratac has a ring around the LED (I suspect our N219 Tools will too)

Thanks jon_slider for the weight measurement
i have been wondering for months how much these things are going to weigh.

Those ball cap pics were just what I wanted to see. It looks like it’ll work great!

Put me down for a CU Tool please.
The best signature ever.
I’d like one too.
Thanks
I’m in for one, thx.

Which Nichia, what CRI?
afaik The N219c is only 80CRI.
Hoping we got an N219 a or b, with 90CRI, yes?:-)
Looking forward!

@ToyKeeper,
That works extremely well! I’ll have to give that a try, no more losing grip on my light and flinging it across the room.
Hi, it's 219B, 90CRI.

I’m in!
Thank you Rey!
Since this one was a success, is there any chance of getting a luminitop copper worm?
Please PM the price, I really like my regular tool and must have one of these!
I second the idea of a Cu Wave. Would be awesome in non-PWM and the 219b. Thanks for this brilliant custom GB. Made my day.
In the future, yes.
