Can you change a reflector

To throw more and less spill by blacking out the in side part of the reflector and leaveing the center alone

and just blacking out the rest of the reflector I'm thinking of trying this out with my sst-90 x6

just to see how it would change the beam... if anything. am I explaining this right..

You don't want to do that unless you are going to use an aspheric. If you blacken out the reflector you will have all spill. The center does virtually nothing.

Better to swap the reflector for a TIR Optic if throw is your aim.

Something like this one will work in place of a P60 reflector.

No I meant not all just like half of the inside circular part

You aren't going to get more throw by blackening out the reflector...all or part. The reflector is what is responsible for the hotspot. Spill is the part of the emitter light that doesn't hit the reflector.

You'll be emulating a smaller reflector by blacking out the front part. That's pretty much the opposite of what is needed to increase throw.

Ok thanks everyonethanks for explaining it to me I thought just maybe..
