Russian Navy blinding device

Group buy anyone???

“Russian warships may soon be equipped with special light systems that can blind enemy optic sensors and personnel with an intensive multiband ray.
The device, officially called a “visual optical jammer station Grach,” was revealed this week at a military expo in Kubinka near Moscow. It’s a remotely-controlled device with two to four projectors that produce light intensive enough to suppress enemy sensors and cause temporal blindness in humans.

The projectors radiate light in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges of the spectrum, which means they affect devices such as thermal visors which rely on such wavelengths. Grach is intended to provide cover for troops during firefights and hinder enemy reconnaissance. It can also be used as a regular searchlight and to send light signals large distances.

Does it come witha firefly mode? What about a pocket clip?

I think the knurling on the sides are a little too aggressive for my hands.

Cheers David

LOL Didn’t see the resemblance until now!

It has large heat sinks

I am wondering what is the light source, if its a laser or short arc lamp, the optics seems rather small…

Been in development for decades , I'm not sure when the Americans started work on a battlefield system to blind the enemy ( Permanently ) .

Supposedly non lethal battlefield suppression that leaves hundreds if not thousands permanently blind ...

I believe the americans were developing a laser powered system , but I just cant remember how far back it goes ...

Wow! Is it available in GearBest? :stuck_out_tongue:

Kidding aside, I think it would be a good thing for the BLF community if we learn to modify our lights into something like that.

Group buy?

Russians still cant produce good cars, PCs or so…but their military equipment is superb.

The last year i got my hand on a night vision that was designed for their new Dragunov spiner rifle - for like 250$ it was even better than my H&K gen 3 monocle plus it was bullet/water/dust/radiation proof

Unfortunately i was foolish enough to sell it to a colleague hunter hoping to get another one…

Weapons intended to cause permanent blindness have been banned by international treaty for years.

Are these "dazzle" weapons being used?

The beam shots!

Forward clicky?

Does it have temporary mode memory that defaults to strobe?

Or, even better, SOS mode?

I’d love to have one of those. Coyote are getting out of hand around here, killing horses and pets.

Old Russian blinding tech?

Prior to the adoption of the 1995 Protocol IV to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, the United States was developing a number of laser systems intended to blind either personnel and/or optical systems

My wife says, when I remove my shirt at the beach I can blind ships at sea. Next time she brings it up, I’ll point out the strategic military uses for that.
