Gearbest ongoing paypal claim

_From Buyer - *10/5/2015 02:32 PDT
Hi. As per order number W1507290621468870, 11 light bulbs were ordered. 6 of one model and 5 of another. Tracking was also paid for to ensure smooth delivery.

The order was split and shipped by gearbest
i) without my authorisation
ii) one of the split packages DIDNOT have tracking.

Result:
i) The order with tracking was SAFELY RECEIVED (6 units). (Tracking Number: RI581864728CN By Update: Aug 11, 2015)
ii) The order without tracking has not been received until now. (UNREGISTERED shipping shipped on Aug 11, 2015 17:00:56 PM PST.

Since it is now more than 2 months since I have ordered this package and I have contacted and went to my local post office to ensure that it has not been held somewhere, I am requesting a REFUND of USD 8.68 (12.4 X 0.7 discount points used).

Thank you for prompt action on your part.

GearBest denied******’s request for a $8.68 USD refund.

Hi. It’s way too late now. Re-waiting for shipping is not useful for me. I am agreeable to a refund of $8.48. Not $8. Thanks.

From Buyer - ** 10/6/2015 20:08 PDT
I made a mistake. The refund amount should be $8.68 as in my initial post. Thanks.

Hi guys. Any update on this? Thanks. I only want the amount I lost for part of the package not received. Nothing more and nothing less!_

Escalating now

You said you received, then you said not received. How could you say not received when you said not received until now — that is, you received. Don’t know what your issue is.

You will find he means “has not been received up till now”
Now meaning the time he typed the message.

Cheers David

I mean the package has not yet arrived. I doubt it ever will…

Think your interpretation is correct.

This seller’s message is confusing, but seem to indicate (acknowledge?) that the second shipment was not received:

Is the seller asking for an additional tracking fee when buyer already paid the tracking fee in the original order?

Complaint should make it clear that the buyer already paid the tracking fee. The seller should have paid for the tracking fee for the second, unreceived, shipment.

If this is correct, maybe give a couple of more weeks for the shipment?

… UNREGISTERED shipping shipped on Aug 11, 2015

At any rate, should emphasize the seller’s responsibility to send with tracking. The seller should pay for their own screw up.

Didn’t you make another thread about this? Or you changed the name of the thread?

One is about the Sunwayman C22c failure and the time it would take for CS to resolve it. The other time I had to deal with CS for a failed falshlight was with 47 and man that was a breeze.

Those bullies have reduced the amount they are willing to refund me from $8 to $6 after I started the paypal claim! and that is after delaying responding as much as possible…

Dear *,

GearBest has offered you a partial refund of $6.00 USD to resolve this claim.

Now you can forget about shopping from them ever.

Not until I use up all my points…Makes for nice 30% discount….

Here is paypal answer today…I mean WTF…This is the first time I see this…

In order to continue this investigation, a police report must be filed with your local law enforcement agency and a copy of the report must be faxed to PayPal.
Contact your local police department and obtain a police/incident report. This report should be on the law enforcement agency’s letterhead or stamped police documentation and clearly explain the details of your issue. This documentation must include the department/officer’s contact information, the reporting officer’s name, badge number and signature.

If the upload feature is available in your PayPal account, we encourage you to upload your documents, as it’s usually the quickest way for us to receive and review your information.

Here’s how to upload your information:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click “Resolution Center” near the bottom of the page.
3. Click “Resolve” under “Action” next to the item for which you need to provide documentation.
4. Follow the instructions to upload the files.
5. Click “Send Files to PayPal.”

Under item 13.4 Dispute Resolution:

During the Claim process, PayPal may require you to provide documentation to support your position. You may be asked to provide receipts, third party evaluations, police reports, or anything else that PayPal specifies.

I checked a number of similar complaints on-line, with no helpful solutions to your problem.

If you’re lucky, you might be able to get your local police department to file a report as a fraudulent credit card sale (the vendor “stole” your money via credit card by keeping the money and not delivering the item to you).

If you’re unlucky, they’ll charge you $75 for a copy of the police report.

This ludicrous requirement begs for a class-action suit.

Maybe PP rep mistakenly copy/pasted wrong reply. I can’t see what they may need the police report for.

Paypal has been doing this to reduce their payouts/cut their losses.

@MountainKing

Ring PayPal & speak to them

asking to go to the authorities to make a report of a “stolen or damaged or lost“ thing to get money from insurance is quite normal.
i think that should keep “unhonest people“ from fraud.

i assume they think: anyone can just file a claim to make money, but only a few will go to the police to make it “official“ because that costs time and nerves and money you do not get back!

(a bad person would say that paypal saves twice… less frauds and a lot less people claiming a sub 50 USD item because the trouble is not worth it)

@keengeorge: Good idea. Thanks.

Just for information, this is my log for 2015 only for GEARBEST purchases. Not sure why they are treating me like shit. The order in red is the problematic order….

And oh, the ‘order’ from July 31st of 0.01C bargain NEVER ARRIVED. Just another stunt to rip off customers. Imagine the number of 0.01 they raked….

Added to this log are my other purchases from a host of other vendors/websites including ebay, banggood, tinywind, asos etc and other kind of payments. Not sure why PAYPAL is treating me like shit for such a petty amount.

Seriously.

Edit: image not displaying

Absolutely stupid……I asked for $8.68 refund….Sigh. Well, after all the hassles I went through, I guess it’s a ‘reward’….I didnot get any police report by the way….
