Gearbest: Lots of orders missing, looking for advice

So I’ve been buying a lot of stuff of GearBest lately. Haven’t had any problems with them so far, but now it seems that a lot of orders are not coming through.

This is my orders, sorted by date of shipping (no linefeed means same order):

* Jun 10: 1x knife
received

* Aug 05: 2x knives
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 01: 4x Ass savers bike accessory
NOT RECEIVED

* Aug 27: Magic Blue UU E27 Bluetooth 4.0 Intelligent 16 Million RGB Bulb
NOT RECEIVED

* Aug 31: 1x knife
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 08: 1x knife
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 08: 4x miller 102
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 21: 2x knives
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 24: 2x knife (only shipment with sweden surface mail)
RECEIVED

* Sep 29: 1x knife
NOT RECEIVED

* Sep 24: 3x miller 102
NOT RECEIVED

These have all been shipped without tracking. I’ve never had any need to use tracking since starting this obsession in 2009.

I’ve opened a ticket asking for help but they are not answering my specific questions (like if there are any general shipping problems). They are not unfriendly and they DO offer a full refund, but only for the order the ticket was assigned to (the Aug05 one).

What should I do? Opening mass paypal disputes isn’t very appealing, is it? Have there been any known problems with major shipping delays in the last weeks?

Is there any active GearBest guy on BLF?

talk to gearbest, if you don't want their terms, talk to paypal. The end

Unfortunately I had the same experience. Out of 25 orders only a fraction came through, mostly the ones sent through the European warehouse (NL, I believe?).

I opened a ticket for one item and the customer support offered a full refund or reshipping the item.

Not sure what to do next with the other items, as of today 65 days have passed after payment (this is not equal to 65 days of shipping as the item ships long after paying).

Skimming through the threads here on BLF I have come to the conclusion that I am not alone and there is something dodgy going on.

- I don’t believe GB don’t ship items as the pictures are there and some of them actually arrived.

- Customs and the post office know nothing about these items, they are normally very reliable on my end.

  • Tracking was working on some items and said it went through “Post Australia” - I wonder why?

Anybody else have further information?

Non-track packages usually take a longer route, thus higher chances of getting it lost during transits. It would be much easier for Paypal claim if you have paid for tracking.

Do you have problem importing knives to your country? Can you confirm your shipping address again?

I keep reading the same story, over and over and over.

2 months ago I was defending GB. Now that it has happened to me, twice, I am now on the other side.
I put in a ticket and yes, I mentioned I already checked the post office and all I got was a canned response 3 days later. Trying to respond to that leaves me with a non existent ticket. Now trying to get a response leads nowhere.
These problems are endemic.

So again I ask

Why is GearBest even ALLOWED to post new deals?

I have a couple of overdue deliveries at the moment from GB. The Ganzo knife I ordered from them passed the two months mark and they are now sending me another one. The other two (Olight torches) are about 10 days from having the same thing happen. To be fair to GB they don’t vanish from site and as slow as they are to deal with things they do put them right in the end. My fake Convoy got replaced in the end so they do come through. Of course the service is pretty poor but when you are buying items that are genuinely at 70% off sometimes you have to understand that you might have to go through hoops to get it in your hands. I always give Banggood the first shot with any purchase but sometimes GB destroy them price wise.

You guys are not alone. There are several of us waiting for parcels more than 60 days. There was some general issue with moving their warehouse, but don't know any othe details.

Here at BLF we can contact CSgearbest to help us.

Same here. I suggest to use paypal. I will do asap

Yes, same here. 3 orders dating back to August. I have told them to reship or I will PayPal them, so they did. But I will give them a month to get here, if they don’t, PayPal.

Yep, same here. I have 3 orders from GB overdue. They were shipped September 5, 14 and 17. Usually it takes 2-3 weeks and rarely up to a month to arrive here in Finland, so at least the first one is taking way longer than usual.

Same here. I have two missing orders, well above 40 days, which is unacceptable. Reading trough all these problems that other members have I went straight to the PayPal refund.

Just rechecked and I find two orders that are not shown on the “Your Orders” list at Gearbest
Both happen to be for the discounted blue Convoy S2+
One on Sept. 1, and the other on Oct. 8.

So neither of them is 60 days overdue yet.
But it’s weird they aren’t showing up on the web page list.

Both confirmed — I have order numbers via email. They just aren’t on the “My Orders” page.

I remember that they don’t order lights from Convoy until after they sell them.

Has anyone else noticed they have orders, and order numbers, that aren’t appearing on the “My Orders” page?

On Slickdeals, all deals related to Gearbest are banned.

I tried posting a couple of deals and couldn’t, so I asked a couple of the moderators for the reason why. Their answer was that too many Gearbest deals turned out to have problems. They couldn’t (or wouldn’t) disclose the nature of problems, just that they were too numerous to disregard, hence the ban.

The true story of “lost” Xtar SP2.

Delivered: Oct 9… after 75 days.

From Jul 31 to Sep 4 (35 days) it was in the hands of China Post.

Two different August knife orders MIA, three September shipments delivered. Been getting canned responses for weeks now — just received the 7th request that I check with the post office even though when first letting them know about the missing orders I told them had already done that. Now they want me to check with all my neighbors.

First they wanted me to wait 60 days before they would resolve the matter. Now that 60 days have passed, they’ve set up new hoops (and repeated the old hoops) to jump through.

Paypal disputes/claims filed for both orders. Attempting to resolve this with GearBest is a waste of time.

Don’t order everything from one place. Spread your orders around. Don’t be held hostage to one dealer.

Also, the Post Office seems to be having a lot of issues. So far, I’ve had both FastTech and DX orders shipped via China post get rejected by the China Post office who returned the parcels claiming they violated security policy, when they clearly did not. (Lithium batteries, knives, liquids cause concern, but my orders didn’t contain these items)

It may be that your order was returned to GB… And if it’s not tracked, then they may not even know it.

I have another shipment from GB that is MIA; it’s just a couple of cheap Bluetooth Audio adapters. I haven’t contacted their support yet, but I probably will after another week or so.

I’ve got an order from August 24 that I’m still waiting for. I’ve ordered four times from GB since the beginning of August and this is the only one that hasn’t arrived. All the others arrived within a month.

July 20 order still not here. Supposedly they have sent a replacement about a month ago, we’ll see. You guys have not seen much of me on here lately because of some shipping issues but mostly the high number of DOA lights, about 40% over the last 6 months. I tired of fooling with these people.

I will not order from Chinese vendors anymore.Problem solved.
