Can anyone recommend a 26650 celled light that also has a USB out? Thanks!

I’d like to carry a 26650 celled light in my bag when I spend a few nights away from my house. I’d like to avoid carrying a dedicated power bank for my phone when I do this. Can anyone recommend me a light that fits the bill?

i.e. - a light such as the Shadow JM35 with a USB out port would be great. Does such a light even exist? I’m not even sure the market demand for such a light would cause the manufacturers to take notice.

Possibly not the best suggestion but it’s what springs to mind.

Hmm. I didn’t know that light existed. I don’t particularly like that light (even after some modding) but thanks for that suggestion! It’s just the sort of 411 I was hoping to get. Pls keep it coming…

How a bout this? Not 26650 but it has 2 ports

That one’s not bad at all. I’ll put it on my short list. + I’m seeing that it IS a 26650 light. Thus I’m a bit confused by your comment of “Not 26650 but it has 2 ports.” Could u pls clarify for me? thanks!

Dammit! Wrong link! I was talking about this: http://m.banggood.com/JKK35-3Cree-XM-L2-DIY-LED-Flashlight-With-Mobile-Power-Bank-Charging-p-968083.html

But the warsun works too!

I think we have a winner. 26650 battery, small, cheap, bright and has a port.

Would you consider a 3x 18650 light? Could possibly double the mah capacity of a 26650 cell. Which would be a benefit if you have used the light and wish to use the charge port.

These ones have tail caps that seal the plug holes good.

Triple emitter

I was about to click the buy button on the Warsun. However a few cons from the reviews had prevented me from doing so. Apparently it has:

  • poor heatsinking from the huge void under the star (not a deal breaker for me I guess. I own a mini lathe & am sure I would eventually deal with while swapping out that emitter)
  • The USB port severely under delivers current. Somewhere around 250mA (I do believe this would be a deal breaker for me. The port would almost be useless.)

I then thought I should get something like this & just carry around a spare 18650 cell. But the lack of reviews makes me wonder how useable the USB port would be.

Lastly I’m now leaning on my cheapest option which would be to to just get & carry around a small open power bank such as the Miller ML-102 (any reason why I shouldn’t just get an XStar MC-1 instead?) Those things don’t look too heavy to lug around. & I do like how I would be able to carry any 18650 light that I would fancy at the time. I can no long drive so the issue of having to take a cell out of a light to put into the charger to use isn’t an issue for me.

In any case thanks for the nice suggestions & also as per the 3 celled lights -> I think I was already pushing how much added weight I have to lug along with a 26650 light. I just think a 3 celled 18650 would be too much.

Thx all!

No problem!Glad to help!

oic - the xtar charger does NOT do USB output only in :frowning:
Miller charger it is then…

I use an Xtar SP1 to charge 26650 batteries at .5 amp, 1 amp, and 2 amp plus it can be used as a portable power bank with a USB out.

Thank u. Will go google that one now (I was minutes from clicking the buy button on an Efest Xsmart charger but knowing my options are always nice.)

I know a flashlight that fit what you want, but it is a little bit large.the size is 80*38*34.This also my one of the collections.

I carry the Miller because it’s a dependable and multifunctional device that takes little space, and it lets me carry an IPX-8 rated flashlight w/o charging port / USB out.

Plus, I find convenient using the power bank feature of the Miller while maintaining the flashlight free for use away from it.

I carry a 18650 cell in it to save space, with a plastic tab on the positive contact, so it will not drain the cell.
