Has anyone tried this dropin? http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/generic-cree-t6-5modes-himidlostrobesos-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-max-p-5651 it’s $12.25. I know somebody has tried it at that price and has some thoughts.
It's way under-driven and only registers about 1.6A on high. I bought a few because it is cheaper than buying XML T6 emitters and the pill/refector sets by themselves. I traded Nanjg 106 2.8A drivers into all of them and they improved markedly.
Good as a DIY part, not great as a drop-in would be my review.

XM-L leds are still around 7usd at lck-led.com and P60 pills can be had for less than 2.5 usd. About 10usd for emitter and pill+reflector.
Doesent matter much if you make 1 or 2 dropins. But, if you make dozens it really matters then.
Used to make batches of XM-L dropins myself. KD drivers 2,8A in 5 packs were also cheaper. Funny how making your own becomes alot cheaper than rushed premade wannabe good dropins.
