This light is Jetbeam quality. The treads are smooth and greased. The anodising is perfect. Comes with a tail cap rubber 2 O rings and a spare switch cover (I think).
Mode are Turbo – Hi – Middle -low and strobe.
Turbo is either 1200 or 960 depending on battery you use. This light is bright.
I used a cheap ultra fire blue 18650 battery charged to 4.15v, to run the light.
50 to 10% slow blink started at 3.75v ( 1 Blink every 2 seconds)
10% or less started fast Blink at 3.70v. (2 blinks per second)
When fast blink starts only Middle and low modes are available.
Charging - You have to turn on the light, insert the micro usb and then insert the usb to power source. The LED will go out and the Blue power comes on constant.
I found that if the battery is 4.18v or more the light will not charge the battery , only the LED goes out and no blue light comes. on.
If the battery is 4.15v or less light charges the battery. I am not sure if the light charges the battery if the voltage is 4.16v or 4.17v, someone else with have to test this.
The only minor problem is the my light the Micro usb was slightly to the right but I could insert usb cable without any problems. If you look at it from a certain angle the position of the micro usb looks O.K. The light passed Jetbeam quality – pass.
Charging the light I used the provided USB and connected to the mains. The cheap blue 18650 ultarfire charged to 4.11v using 5V DC 750mA output.and charged to 4.15v using 5V DC 1Amp output. When charging using the 1Amp output plug it charged my AW battery to 4.18v.
This is a very good light for the money. I just wish they had the NITEYE MS-R15 and NITEYE EC-R26 at discounted price, as I did not like the bigger lights using the XP-L HI leds.
Do NOT but the clip as it stays loose even when tail cap is tight.
A12 – This is the same length as the R25 it’s reflector is more shallow. Lumens is about right. On mine the led looks off centre or something it’s probably due to the insulation disc it’s sitting on. This is a compact 2AA light.
