Ashes To Ashes, David Bowie dies.

That was a shock to hear this morning. :frowning:

He was 69 and battled with cancer for 18 month’s.

He made some great song’s.

yeah he was a real hero

RIP

Ziggy! :_(

The magic will be dancing forever now.

Labyrinth will be bitter-sweet from now on.

In a time music sprung from the heart and not from bits

Ziggy made great strides

:_(

RIP David, your music will last forever

A few days ago Lemmy, now David. Sad…
Mike

I’m still in a shock :_(

David, you will be sorely missed.

Whilst not being a fan, he made some wonderful records which are as good as anything written, and even those written 40 years ago get frequent airplay which is testimony to their enduring quality.

The stars look ve-ry diff-er-ent to-da-aa-aa-ay, RIP Ziggy, you will be missed.

The Man Who Fell to Earth went back…
:weary:

its unbelievable…that in one months died two of the musical heroes…lemmy, david…and,i see, that theres no one,who can replace them…new motorhead? who
new david bowie…? no one…the world is in my opinion in new, very different decade.everything will change…there will be no more musical heroes….

I couldn’t agree more.

I watched Lemmy’s memorial service on YouTube on Saturday.

Put on your red shoes and dance the Blues.

Don’t look
On the carpet.
I put something
Awful on it.

See?

Run for the shadows in these Golden Years!

We could be heroes, for just one day.

Where Are We Now?

Those of us who look past looks, and listen to the music; are a lot better off because
David Bowie
was in this world.

RIP…

Don’t let me hear you say life’s taking you nowhere.

Sad day. RIP.

Lay me place and bake me pie
I’m starving for me gravy
Leave my shoes and door unlocked
I might just slip away
Just for the day, hey!
Please come away, hey!

I was a teenager in the 1980s. There wasn’t an artist during that whole decade who wasn’t influenced by him. Not how I wanted to launch a music blog. I’d rather write about living legends.

David Bowie ‘has been secretly cremated in America without friends or family present’ after telling loved ones he didn’t want a funeral.

It is understood the 69-year-old’s body was cremated shortly after his death on Sunday ‘without any fuss’, he told family before his death he wanted to be remembered for his music.

I think I would have the same, no fuss and no money wasted on a funeral.

Most folks simply liked his music. Few listened well enough to hear just how innovative it was. Even fewer understood how tightly it all was put together on a level as high as any orchestra reaches. His genius with music was his alone- he went his own way without striving to achieve the largest popularity possible and that put him among the fewest of all.

As I get older the heroes from my younger days are going or are gone, but some like Bowie will never be forgotten and will never be matched or exceeded. The body is gone, the brilliance lives on.
