UK Seller of Batteries

Hello, good morning. :expressionless:

I would like to buy some LG HG2 18660 and MNKE IMNR 26650

After a lot of searching I end up on ebay, at least you can check their feedback and how long they’ve been trading for. :stuck_out_tongue:
.

LG HG2 trading for 6 year’s

MNKE 26650 trading for 4 year’s

.
Both have good feedback, the second seller does have some negatives.
.

What do you think, can anyone recommend any trustworthy seller’s in the UK?
.

‘Torchy’ on ebay is supposed to be good but they don’t stock the batteries above.

Thanks Andrew

You can get HG2 cheaper just across the channel, at nkon.nl. He deliver in 2-3 days and I consider it a quality shop.

Postage will only be 4EU if not too heavy.

Well, seller 1, Powercig is displaying “authorised distributor” in his graphics.

If you’re worried, I’m sure you could drop LG an email and ask if he is indeed an authorised distributor…And if the reply was no, I’d be inclined to ask them who is.

I took the plunge and ordered the LG’s from the ebay link above and the MNKE’s from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261449117241?\_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They are cheaper, I’ll them to my favourites.

Thanks sixty545

Too late now, haha

Thanks Nightshade

I’ll check them out properly when they arrive to ensure they’re genuine.

These people seem kosher:

Dunno if they have your cells though.

Hopefully they’ll be fine. Let us all know once they arrive - it’s always nice to find good suppliers on home turf for when time is of the essence.

Yes Leif the company in your link “Ecoluxshop” are a genuine supplier.
I have had cells off them & they are recommended over on CPF as a supplier you can trust.

Thank you, nice to know. My Keeppowers seem fine, good price too.

Hi Andrew 2007,

Just to confirm that Torchy on eBay is my 1st Choice, (Jim is a member here), for fast domestic delivery (from Glasgow, Scotland), and he also does real-life Amps on his discharge tests! Very Helpful in offering sound advice to Newbies like me too.
Ecolux have filled in the gaps where Torchy doesn’t stock certain items. Fast delivery and also good products, though testing not as good as Jim’s (Torchy).

Cheers,

Andrew

Sorry to hijack your thread but with the fact I have one of those Thorfire C8s hopefully going to arrive next week, I’m in need of a decent charger (maybe a hybrid intelligent charger to keep my Eneloops happy - I only have a couple of cheap dumb chargers at present) and either some decent 18650’s or rechargeable CR123’s (am I right the Thorfire will take rechargeable CR123’s?)

I’m hoping to keep my budget relatively low.

Do any of you have any suggestions for UK retailers of these - or maybe a package deal?

I’ve seen eBay has the Xtar VC4 charger from around £20 upwards.

Or am I better off buying from the far east?

SP

I bought the VC4 from GearBest for about £14 but £20 is very good since you’ll get a better warranty if it arrives faulty. But if it fails within a year, an Ebay seller will probably ignore you. Worldzone refused to honour a 1 year warranty on a torch.

Every one will have their own recommendations on chargers.
If it were me & you just wanted a reliable 4 slot multi chemistry charger you could get a Nitecore D4 from a UK based seller on ebay delivered for £20.
If you wanted a 4 slot multi chemistry charger/analyser & were willing to get one from a Hong Kong/China based seller on ebay, which will take around 3-4 weeks delivery, then I would recommend the Liitokala Engineer 500 delivered for under £20.
I have both & am very happy with them, they are both also available in 2 slot as well for a little less.
If you want to get into charging a little more deeply with regard to NiMH/NiCD AA & AAA”s (eneloops etc) then the Powerex/Maha C9000 is a very good charger & has break-in & refresh modes as well as the ablity to analyse but is a bit dearer at around £50 delivered.

Thank you Splott, just placed an order with Torchy.

Good communication, fair price and I know that I will receive the items within a week

You get what you pay for.

have you got an eBay link for Torchy? A search on eBay only brings up a seller "Torchy" who hasn't sold anything for years.

Sorry,
I forgot his eBay Handle is big_f_d_d,

thanks, I'll go and have a look at his prices.

Torchy & Ecoluxshop are the 2 UK suppliers I normally use.
I have bought cells off them for a couple of years now with no problems.
Although not the cheapest suppliers you at least know that you are getting genuine products & not questionable ones like *fire 6000mah 18650”s

Would these make a decent starter set-up at a reasonable price or can I get better for cheaper (with guarantees etc)

Xtar VC4 for £23.39

plus

These Panasonics for £11.93

or should I get a

Nitecore i4 for £14.99

have you considered the Nitecore d2? I think it's a better charger for a similar price (the LCD makes it more useful IMO).

Thanks Dave - I’ve ended up ordering the VC4 and the Panasonic batteries I linked to.
