Back in the ’80s I had a rechargeable soldering iron recovered from the trash bin while in the army as a calibration tech. Easily repaired by combining good parts from other discarded units. Based on a quick search it might have been an iso-tip due to tip style and overall shape and build. It was a handy quick heating iron. Unfortunately it disappeared when I re-joined the military. Wish I still had it to convert from nicad.
